I think my friend should pay, she thinks we should split it?

Driving a friend 4 hours away for an operation (cosmetic) and will use 2 full tanks of fuel in my car, cost of a hotel, food while I'm there and I'm using a days annual leave.
She wants to split all costs down the middle, whereas I think I'm using my holiday entitlement and 2 days of my time (which I am more than happy to give up) but don't think I should be paying for fuel, or for the hotel? I've said I'll pay for all my own food.
Her logic is we're both going so why should only she pay, she's already paying lots for surgery.
My logic is I wouldn't be going if it wasn't to do her a favour so don't see it fair to split costs.
Whats the right thing to do here? Don't want to be mean but trying to be fair...

If it really was a necessary medical procedure, why would she be having to pay £13k anyway? She would be having it on the NHS, wouldn't she??? These Facebook friends are either thick or just massaging her ego and feeding the drama!!

As for the infertility comment, words fail me. I am infertile and I just wouldn't wish it on anybody, even a sword enemy (not that I have any thankfully), but what an awful woman. Angry

You should screenshot this thread and post it on your Facebook page, tagging her. So the Facebook friends can see how batshit she actually is.

No she still wouldn't. I very much doubt anyone could argue with a straight face that there was consideration or intention to create legal relations - OP is just doing a favour.

Forget about the threat to sue OP, she doesn't have a cat's chance in hell. Besides, if she had told you from the off that she would lose her £13k I expect you'd have strongly advise she had a plan B in case you got ill, had other commitments, car trouble etc etc etc. If she had any brains she'd have figured that out for herself anyway.

she's very unwell isn't she?
You could have hours of fun with this, but it's also quite disturbing. she's the kind to hold a grudge and you may find random things happening years later cos she can't accept that she's not the center of the universe.
