The thread continues....if it hasn't continued elsewhere! @Lateforall it was me who questioned Lobella loves depression wears lippy campaign. I get that the idea is that being a bit glam might be a way of coping. And i have been guilty of putting my face on to carry on in the world. I get that not everyone with pnd is sat at home in pjs unshowered with greasy hair. But I just find the whole thing so false on her account - maybe that is because I know of her in real life.

But I think so many of them have massivley over exaggerated aspects of their lives because it sells. Whether that is FODs clumsy parenting or whatever. But it really doesnt sit well

Thanks for new thread

Supernorthernme · 01/04/2018 00:06

But the old thread is too full for me to post a link...

I guess each instamum / dad need their own usp....whether that's because of their profession, parenting style ( or lack of) and advertisers will gladly pick a family which fits their demographic...
I feel many have been duped with the concept of they're just 'one of us'

CadyHeron · 01/04/2018 00:18

Yep, they all have their own USPs. As you need one in order for people to want to follow.
In FOD's case, the USP will probably be the clumsy, hapless parenting route. It'll work well as people will feel they can relate and so follow.
(Using FOD as an example as he's already been mentioned and it illustrates one that must work.)

TheChocolateTeapot · 01/04/2018 00:33

Hahaha to MOD slapping down the lone critic of her freebie....., but I am on holiday reviewing this for you. Oh MoD, thank you, thank you, thank for your noble, selfless gesture. She actually does think people are stupid. No wonder Insta is mopping up these days - society doesn't do questioning or dissent. It really is the new reality show in town. Enjoy it while it lasts.

CadyHeron · 01/04/2018 00:37

Well, it kind of is a reality show, isn't it. The people on there with the freebies are making their instagram feeds into a business.
So in that sense, yes they are like reality tv shows but on instagram feeds instead.

Reallycantbebothered · 01/04/2018 00:39

The Truman show....

TheChocolateTeapot · 01/04/2018 00:40

#grim # tasteless #greedygrabby

CadyHeron · 01/04/2018 00:41

If they're declaring though, it doesn't matter if you think it's #grim #grabby #tasteless.
They're technically doing nothing wrong. You don't have to look, or watch if you don't like what they stand for.

TheChocolateTeapot · 01/04/2018 00:42

Interesting that she only engages with her critics on her posts. Really needs to shut them down fast and spur on the fan girls. Poor love - and she was only doing it for us.

laurahill88 · 01/04/2018 00:46

This is the 6th thread now (considering 3 was deleted and then 3.2 created) so hopefully it’ll conclude. Surely no new points need to be made? Seems like everyone is going round in circles now. I’ve learnt so much from these threads and am now on the look out for #ad

TheChocolateTeapot · 01/04/2018 00:47

Technically, no, nothing wrong at all. I do find it odd that some IGers can't/won't engage with their critics - instead just want to shut them down.

CadyHeron · 01/04/2018 00:48

If they're not engaging, how can they be wanting to shut them down?
That's a contradiction and a half.

TheChocolateTeapot · 01/04/2018 00:49

Why would it conclude? Very much hope it will have as much validity as the IG threads it is calling to account. Think it's called freedom of speech.

Areyouinthegame · 01/04/2018 00:53

Shut down on Instagram by blocking and deleting cady

Areyouinthegame · 01/04/2018 00:54

There's no room for query or criticism over there. Its all about love........ And girl power

CadyHeron · 01/04/2018 00:55

If they're blocking sustained personal attacks, I can't say I blame them really.
Wouldn't you if people kept haranguing you on say Twitter or FB?

laurahill88 · 01/04/2018 00:57

Really strange how some new accounts that haven’t been participating in the previous thread are suddenly popping up with what sounds like a huge chip on their shoulder Hmm. Surely this one isn’t heading towards being deleted already

laurahill88 · 01/04/2018 00:58

I agree @cadyheron, if I was recieving malicious comments/messages then I’d block and delete rather than try to converse

MadameGrizzly · 01/04/2018 01:00

Yeah, MOD disclosed the holiday. But the kaftans, shoes, bags and book weren't disclosed but were quite likely all product placement.

DLAM has disclosed nothing about her holiday - yet she is pregnant with her third and completing renovations so I would have thought household funds might not have stretched to a holiday in Cornwall.

Greed has changed a lot of instamum accounts. I bet they all rue the day the first thread was started on MN.

CadyHeron · 01/04/2018 01:01

Just a quick look - "get off your phone and into the real world."
Hmm
How is that in any way constructive criticism? Just a chance to bitch. Probably sent by a mum looking at IG on their phone instead of looking at their kids (some kind of irony there!)

MadameGrizzly · 01/04/2018 01:02

Why is there such a pressing need for the threads to conclude? Hmm

CadyHeron · 01/04/2018 01:03

Really? I bet it's helped their traffic loads so I don't think there'll be much ruing going on.

laurahill88 · 01/04/2018 01:07

@madamegrizzly what more needs to be said that hasn’t already? The ASA regulations have been spoken about and made clear. The featuring children issue is personal opinion and a parenting choice. Personal comments are not constructive in any way towards the original topics and only lead to the instamums in question coming back with that rather than taking valid points

Choccywoccyhooha · 01/04/2018 02:23

This is interesting. Similar happened to the starry M&S dress that every bugger put on instagram last year.
