Lord Patel has invited rapist killer 'Karen Jones', who says he is a woman to Parliament. Jones killed his partner aged 17, then raped a woman five days after being released and was sentenced to 'life' in 2002.

Now he has been released and Lord Patel has invited him to the House of Lords to advise on some matter that I can't really be bothered to mention. AIBU to not give a shit what he says and think he shouldn't have any kind of voice least of all in Parliament?

Lord Patel thinks he has paid his debt to society. I think this is a grave insult, both to the man he killed and the woman he raped who thought she was going to die during his attack.

why not ask them, what happens when she gives a talk, does she say what she has done? does she say that she tried to rape a woman
does she say that she wanted to use her penis to destroy another persons life

I had two posts on the Guardian website moderated the other other day because I deigned to point out the TIMs needed to challenge the definition of masculinity rather than invading women's space redefining us and that they couldn't erase biological facts.

Can anyone tell me why we, as a nation, are having to put up with and accept the heinous crimes these 'women with dicks' keep committing? Why are we all expected to be sympathetic because he doesn't know he's a him not a she??

Having looked at Lord Patel's twitter account, there was no way he made an innocent mistake when he invited this speaker. If he genuinely wanted a debate on how trans people coped in prison, why didn't he ask someone who wasn't a sex offender (and someone who is on the sex offenders' register for life not to mention the matter of a manslaughter conviction)? Lord Patel's lack of judgment beggars belief.

Words fail me. Could they not choose one of the many decent people out there to advise them on the issue rather than this scum? My judgement is based on the criminal activity and not gender.

I think Lord Patel should be called to account for this.
