Okay not her racism, sexism and anti gay views. But there is so much explicit sex and nakedness on TV now, I do wish there was someone in the public eye speaking out against it.

If you don’t like it then don’t watch it but don’t try to police what other people watch.

Nobody makes anybody watch anything. Be brave with the remote if you don't like it.

I think the most positive thing that came from Mary Whithouse protests was The Mary Whitehouse Experience.

I agree. One of the downsides of having such a wide choice of TV channels and programmes available seems to be that there's huge competition for viewers, and so a race to the bottom ensues where producers try ever more desperate tactics to ensure their show is the one that is setting Twitter on fire, that everyone is talking about, everyone is watching. I would love for another energetic and redoubtable Mary Whitehouse figure to kick up a fuss about it.

Yes, as individuals we can turn off the offending programmes. But we can't escape from the effects on our children, or society in general.

Why on earth shouldn't people be naked on the television?
You're harking back to a time when teen pregnancies were higher and people were dying from back street abortions because we didn't discuss this sort of thing in public.

Gilead Sex education is important. Showing penises and vulvas on TV as a criteria to pick a potential date, is not.

I miss The Mary Whitehouse Experience, but that's not quite the same thing.

I would also like to know why there shouldn’t be any nakedness on television, especially in a non-sexual manner. Naked Attraction, while obviously somewhat controversial, at least shows a range of bodies and tastes in what is deemed ‘attractive’ - better than any other type of show or magazine (or porn) that tends to leave both men and women with either unrealistic expectations or low body confidence.

No you're not, I hate those type of dating shows as well. Just ugh. Picking dates by their naked bodies? Nope.

BattleCuntGalactica - BBC Radio 4/4extra sometimes runs repeats of TMWE, I like listening to it when The Now Show isn’t on.

Do we really want to be saying to young people that this kind of thing is acceptable?
And why the need for explicit sex scenes? It is rarely necessary.
