Or do you not wash your feet and legs in the shower?

Just a simple as it sounds. When I have a shower if I am not washing my hair I wash my armpits, the front of my body and my nether regions. Maybe down each arm and sometimes my neck. Literally never ever ever wash my legs unless I am shaving them. Also my feet never ever get washed. Seriously.

My husband thinks I am totally disgusting. Am I being unreasonable here or does the water dripping down my body do enough for my legs and feet? I think it does.

Nope. Too much risk of slipping, and the water hitting the bottom washes them anyway. If I rolled around in mud all day I'd think fair enough but my feet just do standard boring things like fill shoes.

Knittedfairies · 22/12/2017 21:20

I'm with your husband on this one!

slothface · 22/12/2017 21:21

If I'm not showering that day I'll do a sink wash of pits and bits so you're already cleaner than me!

ItsNiceItsDifferentItsUnusual · 22/12/2017 21:21

I do the same as you. To be fair, now I think about it, my feet really should probably get a wash too.

StealthPolarBear · 22/12/2017 21:21

I've started doing it since reading a thread :) but in general no

SellFridges · 22/12/2017 21:21

Eh?

rubbishtalker · 22/12/2017 21:22

YES!!!! fist pump

I do a bit, but if I stop to think about it I’d find it unnecessary! Probably different for people with smelly feet but that’s not a problem (underarm needs more attention).

lurkingnotlurking · 22/12/2017 21:22

Feet? Who washes their feet? I'm about 70/30 on the legs too

MammaAgata · 22/12/2017 21:22

I wash everywhere every day. Especially feet as they seem to be the smelliest.

AdalindSchade · 22/12/2017 21:22

I never used to wash my feet as I assumed they were washed through the shower/bath process but they really aren't. They do need a wash.

CherryChasingDotMuncher · 22/12/2017 21:23

I get insanely itchy legs if I wash them so I leave them

delilahbucket · 22/12/2017 21:23

I think you need something to get rid of the dead skin and water running down your legs isn't going to do that. Washing in between toes and properly drying is important in order to prevent an infection.

Mum2jenny · 22/12/2017 21:23

I do same as you OP

Hassled · 22/12/2017 21:23

I'll sometimes wash my feet - only really in the summer when I've been wearing flip flops and I can see they're a bit manky. But otherwise the soapy water dripping down is enough.

StealthPolarBear · 22/12/2017 21:24

That said in summer if I've been wearing sandals I run water in the sink and wash my feet before bed

WatchTheFoxes · 22/12/2017 21:24

Sorry but that sounds awful, I always wash my feet every day, I think the sweatiest part of your feet are under and between your toes on the underside of your foot and I make sure to give that area a good scrub.

ImogenTubbs · 22/12/2017 21:24

I do wash my feet, but then I have stinky gross feet. Don't wash my legs.

TinyDoom · 22/12/2017 21:24

I only wash them if I've been running cross country and they're muddy (yes, I do run, so it does happen Grin). Otherwise, I assume all the suds running down me (plus the occasional shaving) gets them clean.

CrackersForlt · 22/12/2017 21:25

There's no way I wouldn't wash my legs and feet. I find it odd that someone wouldn't.

I love a bath, but don't get them often enough to miss out washing some bits when I shower.

StealthPolarBear · 22/12/2017 21:25

"Washing in between toes and properly drying is important in order to prevent an infection"
Can't be that important. I've never done that much, and never had a foot or toe infection

MammaAgata · 22/12/2017 21:25

By the way I don’t have smelly feet but have lived with people who’s feet stink to high heaven so I wash mine (and under the nails) everyday, wear good quality shoes, have regular pedicures to get rid of dry skin. Just in case..

wavesandwellies · 22/12/2017 21:26

I was actually in the shower the other day contemplating if I should wash my feet and legs...I didn't.

when I wash my hair the plug gets clogged with hair so much that it creates a little soapy bath for them. that surely counts, right?

MsJolly · 22/12/2017 21:26

Always wash my feet and between my toes with soap daily in the shower-running water over them from the shower doesn't clean them properly.

WatchTheFoxes · 22/12/2017 21:27

It's the action of rubbing soap on your feet that cleans them. Soap is a surfactant.
