I don't understand the hype about Yorkshire?

Is it just me to be fed up with continuous hype about Yorkshire?

TV programmes devoted to the county etc etc. I spent some time up there recently and feel the South West, where I'm from, has far more to offer.

Eh?

HermioneWeasley · 08/12/2017 20:33

Good for you.

Ilovesliz · 08/12/2017 20:33

And that's why we'd like you to stay there Grin

DancingHouse · 08/12/2017 20:34

All countrysides look the same really

NorthernLurker · 08/12/2017 20:34

Ha ha!

Excellent troll effort.

Everybody knows Yorkshire is God's own county. Those of you who live in other areas, especially the benighted south, may simply stand aside and weep.

BrawneLamia · 08/12/2017 20:35

What hype?
I went on holiday to Yorkshire last summer, didn't meet a single southerner up there.

MrsU88 · 08/12/2017 20:35

jealous much?

EB123 · 08/12/2017 20:36

I haven't seen much hype?

Anyway it is lovely up here. I am from the SE my now I live in Yorkshire and I love what is has to offer.

MarmaladeIsMyJam · 08/12/2017 20:36

What ‘hype’? Confused what programmes? Countryfile? Or a programme actually about Yorkshire? Where exactly do you live?

oldlaundbooth · 08/12/2017 20:36

Where exactly did you visit?

There's different bits, you know

LaGattaNera · 08/12/2017 20:36

I live in the SE and loved my visit to North Yorkshire. Great countryside, food, coast etc but the people were amazing so friendly, warm & chatting to us even though we were strangers - my neighbours here are not even like this - I loved them and best of all they love dogs, dogs everywhere, in pubs, in the towns. I'd be happy to live there apart from the snow. I have visited other places in the SW and SE and though lovely, didn't find the folk are friendly.

LemonysSnicket · 08/12/2017 20:37

Hahahaha Up Ilkley Moor Baht’at, Love.
You’re welcome to think that but why post about a county that people are openly and devoutly proud off? You’re just going to get slammed.

Ps, Yorkshire’s amazing. Stay in the SE.

OhWhatFuckeryIsThisNow · 08/12/2017 20:37

Tha means ey up dunt thee Wizzy ?

Phillipa12 · 08/12/2017 20:37

I have moved back home to the South West after 14 years in Yorkshire, i miss Yorkshire, never missed the South West though!

OhForFrigSake · 08/12/2017 20:38

You take that back

ginghambox · 08/12/2017 20:38

The only good thing about Yaaaaarkshire is the A59 going to LancashireSmile

Tedster77 · 08/12/2017 20:38

What?!? Other than the Yorkshire Vet - clearly inspired by Herriot Country - I have no idea what you are on about!? I’m born and bred South West and live there now but have also lived in Yorkshire and can assure you they are equally interesting and have noticed no bias!

GeeLondon · 08/12/2017 20:39

Ey up pet? How rude! Yorkshire is the most beautiful county of them all 💖💖💖

Santasbigredbobblehat · 08/12/2017 20:39

I was talking to someone the other day about this! How Yorkshire is so famous and has loads of TV programmes made about it. I’m not saying it’s not great, but it’s definitely bigged up.

OhForFrigSake · 08/12/2017 20:39

I'm from Holmfirth, famous for Last of the Summer Wine. Bloody lovely it is.

Longdistance · 08/12/2017 20:40

You should try Yorkshire Tea. It’s a lovely brew, but...I’m still scratching my head at tea being grown in Yorkshire 🤯

ReinettePompadour · 08/12/2017 20:40

I love yorkshire. The southwest is crap and very very over rated.

I've had amazing holidays every time in Yorkshire. All my holidays in the south west have been dire without exception.

clarkyclarkson · 08/12/2017 20:41

Least us Northerners can afford a deposit for a house without having to sell a kidney like you Southerners

witchofzog · 08/12/2017 20:41

They are both lovely in very different ways. Your post is a bit like saying cheese has more to offer than satsumas. Cheese and satsumas ate both lovely too in different ways

MrsExpo · 08/12/2017 20:42

OP, if you feel the SW has more to offer, then please feel free to never again venture north of Watford Gap, and leave the unrivalled wonder that is Yorkshire to those of us who truly appreciate fabulous countryside, great people, wonderful coastline and som3 of the finest pubs in the country. Grin
