I was reading the 'broken ankle' thread and was amazed at how many people have broken their ankles or tibula/fibula.

I mean, I know people break bones all the time , but honestly, before my car accident at the age of 39 I had only had a green fracture in my arm at the age of 4.

So here I am thinking I'm all unique Grin with all my broken bones, but I'd actually really like to know about other peoples'.

I'll go first (this was in the car accident in January):

R collarbone
2 ribs (one in two places)
R pelvis
R femur (upper leg)
R tibula/fibula (lower leg)
L femur
L heel

Obviously I'm held together by a lot of metal at the moment Grin but it's better than a head injury or being dead (obviously). And for some reason I am super proud of my scars.

Please tell me your stories? Smile

I broke my right wrist and right collar bone as a young teenager, both in separate horse riding accidents.

Then I had a car accident a few years ago and by some miracle came out unscathed other than a broken left navicular (small bone in my foot).

Hope you're on the mend Thanks

bananafish81 · 02/12/2017 17:24

Smashed up my sacrum when I was 13

Had my coccyx removed when I was 21

They let me keep the bone - I have it in a jar Shock

DearTeddyRobinson · 02/12/2017 17:24

Left ankle (twice)
Right scaphoid (small bone in wrist).
God I hope that's it!
I've had numerous surgeries though tries to keep up with OP

yawning801 · 02/12/2017 17:24

Does it count if my spine was broken and reassembled on purpose during surgery?

If not, then none! Blush

PenelopePimpleBottom · 02/12/2017 17:24

Both little toes. That is all. And I didn't do those until 2 years ago, I'm 30.

Mac12345 · 02/12/2017 17:24

I broke my little toe when I was 7, it was the Easter school disco and my friend and I had planned to wear our matching skirts. I was rushing to get ready, ran out of my bedroom and caught my toe on the doorframe. I carried on, the toe didn't. Then I hobbled down to my dad and said "I think I hurt my toe" it was pointing out at a right angle!! 😂

Needless to say I missed the disco in favour of an afternoon at a&e and my best friend was devestated we didn't get to wear our matching skirts!

I was very proud of myself for not screaming or crying when I did it, but I bloody did both when they put it back in place!

deepestdarkestperu · 02/12/2017 17:24

I've never broken a bone. I'm 29 next week.

MusicToMyEars800 · 02/12/2017 17:25

I have broke the baby toe on my right foot 3 times and I have broke my left ankle.

JennyOnAPlate · 02/12/2017 17:27

Little toe when I was —drunk— at uni and ankle in my early twenties.

Lizzie48 · 02/12/2017 17:42

I've broken my left ankle. I didn't realise I'd broken it, as I'd had several sprains in the past so assumed it was another one. I was in Africa at the time to give some context, and a doctor there gave his opinion that he didn't think it was broken.

But then, 12 years later, I hurt the same ankle again (on a trampoline!) and the X-ray showed damaged ligaments and an old fracture. That time in Africa was the only time I hadn't had an X-ray, and it had been a nasty fall into a deep hole in the dirt track outside the house where I was visiting.

Anyway, as the result of my subsequent accident, the old injury led to bruising to the bone which took 2 years to heal. It did heal but it led to damage to my hips as a result of me overcompensating in getting myself around. I haven't been the same since then sadly. Sad

MBHQ deleted the other thread. Hmm Cba typing my reply on it all over again.

TowerRose · 02/12/2017 18:00

Jenniferturkington · 02/12/2017 18:01

Never broken a bone (not of my own anyway, I once broke a girl's fib playing footy) and I'm 36

kaytee87 · 02/12/2017 18:01

I broke my radius and ulna bones right through when I was 4 (left arm)

My right big toe (probably twice but didn't get it seen to)

And now my left ankle on both sides and my fibula right through.

Have now had 7 operations under GA Sad

Floralnomad · 02/12/2017 18:04

Skull
Collar bones x2
Wrist
Fingers / toes
Big toe

PurplePillowCase · 02/12/2017 18:04

coccyx (came off horse slapstick style)
little toe (knocked it on a concrete curb)
ribs (coughing fit)
metatarsal (walked down stairs)

since the last 2 were weeks apart I'm now on extra vit d3.

TooManyPaws · 02/12/2017 18:06

I must bounce. 56 and I had to have my septum realigned - either broken during hockey at school or on my rifle sights. Cracked a finger bone in two separate accidents; in one of them, the soft tissue damage, ie bruising to knuckles, was what required splinting. I am hypermobile though and have arthritis in my joints.

Both my parents were the same but both had to have both hips replaced in their 70s/80s.

Christmascardqueen · 02/12/2017 18:06

60 none officially although I suspect I fractured my right shin about 10 years ago.
Unable to weight bear on it for 6 weeks and it developed one of those bone calcification lumps...now reabsorbed. After a nasty fall.

Glumglowworm · 02/12/2017 18:07

My coccyx twice

Cracked a rib

A small toe

None confirmed by X-ray because due to location none would need/be possible to treat except with painkillers. Coccyx was definitely the worst!

I also broke my sisters toe Grin

MilkTwoSugarsThanks · 02/12/2017 18:08

I broke a wrist... it wasn't my wrist Blush

VivienneWestwoodsKnickers · 02/12/2017 18:08

Left thumb aged 5, trying to wheelie bike on a wet drain cover.
Left wrist aged 9, fell off bike in spectacular fashion.
All ten toes on multiple occasions - bottom of a tidal swimming pool where the depth was never quite the same, on stairs etc
All ten fingers aged 24, working security at a festival.
Middle finger of left hand aged 32, slammed it in a car door.

hungryradish · 02/12/2017 18:11

Ouch, sounds terrible op!

Just my toes, multiple times. Nothing else luckily & I'm 28 :)

ScootieAllan · 02/12/2017 18:11

Nothing, ever. Aged 44.
