To ask you what bones you have broken?

I was reading the 'broken ankle' thread and was amazed at how many people have broken their ankles or tibula/fibula.

I mean, I know people break bones all the time , but honestly, before my car accident at the age of 39 I had only had a green fracture in my arm at the age of 4.

So here I am thinking I'm all unique Grin with all my broken bones, but I'd actually really like to know about other peoples'.

I'll go first (this was in the car accident in January):

R collarbone
2 ribs (one in two places)
R pelvis
R femur (upper leg)
R tibula/fibula (lower leg)
L femur
L heel

Obviously I'm held together by a lot of metal at the moment Grin but it's better than a head injury or being dead (obviously). And for some reason I am super proud of my scars.

Please tell me your stories? Smile

Left arm-radius and ulna (tripped and put arm out to break fall....). Had plates put in to repair them, two months later plate on ulna broke so had to have another operation. The radius healed fine.

Northernmum12 · 02/12/2017 18:16

3 different fingers, left foot, 4 ribs, right collarbone, left wrist, small bone in left ankle and dislocated my knee on a regular basis. All seperate occasions mostly horse related accidents

bananafish81 · 02/12/2017 18:22

@Glumglowworm yep coccyx was awful - mine ended up having to come out it was so buggered!

Ellendegeneres · 02/12/2017 18:23

Shoulder neck and elbow. Bitchy injuries, left with nerve damage to elbow, shoulder and neck get stiff in cold weather. Loving this cold spell!

Ellendegeneres · 02/12/2017 18:23

Oh and dislocated fingers and toes

NoelNiki · 02/12/2017 18:23

None. Must be a rarity.

MilibandStoleMySonsName · 02/12/2017 18:28

Wrists twice and spine.

Bluntness100 · 02/12/2017 18:28

Two ribs
Ankle in two places inc fibula
Toe, twice, different toes
Foot. Twisted over in heels and foot snapped back and cartlidge broke the bones, cartlidge is apparantly stronger than the bones bones,

Ankle was the worst by far, the ribs were agony, but ankle incapacitates during recovery time and it’s friggen awful.

TurtleCavalryIsSeriousShit · 02/12/2017 18:29

Oh bugger!! Sorry about the double threadConfused

Oh yes and my coccyx, forgot about that, that’s hell too.

KurriKurri · 02/12/2017 18:34

I'm 57 and (touch wood) have only broken my toes. I did both big toes at the same time when the glass from the front of my cooker dropped out and landed guillotine style across both my big toes. Snap !

TurtleCavalryIsSeriousShit · 02/12/2017 18:35

Ankle affected by the tibia/fibula break has been one of the worst. And the pelvis/hip is a bloody nightmare to sleep with.

I can quite imagine a cocxyx is painful though.

I broke my nose twice when in my teens.

ohfourfoxache · 02/12/2017 18:44

Sounds like some pretty serious injuries on here Shock

I managed to break my back in 2 places, knocked myself out falling down the stairs and stupidly didn’t go to A&E (I was at home alone when it happened). It was only picked up a few weeks later when I had a (planned) MRI and two massive breaks were found. I thank my lucky stars every day that I’m ok.

Ds1 broke my nose when I was 7 months pregnant with ds2 - we were having a cuddle and he just threw his head back laughing. Smarted a bit Grin

Hippadippadation · 02/12/2017 18:45

I've only ever broken my nose and it was when I was about 2. 30 odd years later without any further incident, I'm pretty happy with that!

laurzj82 · 02/12/2017 18:47

Only a broken little toe and right fibula here. Both as an adult

dudsville · 02/12/2017 18:48

None. Nearly 50 and unbroken. Never been in hospital. I feel lucky.

Bluelonerose · 02/12/2017 18:50

The only bone I've broken is my little toe.
I stubbed it on the radiator pipe as I was walking past.

Nobody believed me almost my entire foot was black with bruising, I couldn't walk properly and I couldn't wear anything other than flip flops for 6 weeks.

yummytummy · 02/12/2017 18:50

Exh broke my wrist. Marriage was very abusive. This thread is triggering although I know it's my issue. I wish I had broken bones "normally"

burntoutmum · 02/12/2017 18:51

Bones in hand
Scaphoid bone
Fingers
Toe
Chipped knee cap

kimlo · 02/12/2017 18:51

none at 35.

TurtleCavalryIsSeriousShit · 02/12/2017 18:54

Before this accident i had only spent time in hospital with 2 pretty straight forward births. One night each.

Then BAM.... 6 months!! What an eye opener....

Right wrist, left ring finger. Left little finger. Bone in my hand. All of them were crap, you have my deepest sympathy x

PurpleTraitor · 02/12/2017 19:01

Quite a few

Wrist twice, ankle, nose. Little toe. Ribs - two or three there, though not sure if they count as separate.

Never spent a night in hospital as an adult though, so although the ol’ skeleton will tell a tale, I’m thankful they clearly haven’t been bad breaks - I associate a break with either a putting a pot on or ‘nothing to be done’ type treatments, so I am lucky there.
