To ask you what bones you have broken?

I was reading the 'broken ankle' thread and was amazed at how many people have broken their ankles or tibula/fibula.

I mean, I know people break bones all the time , but honestly, before my car accident at the age of 39 I had only had a green fracture in my arm at the age of 4.

So here I am thinking I'm all unique Grin with all my broken bones, but I'd actually really like to know about other peoples'.

I'll go first (this was in the car accident in January):

R collarbone
2 ribs (one in two places)
R pelvis
R femur (upper leg)
R tibula/fibula (lower leg)
L femur
L heel

Obviously I'm held together by a lot of metal at the moment Grin but it's better than a head injury or being dead (obviously). And for some reason I am super proud of my scars.

Please tell me your stories? Smile

Bbbbbbbb2017 · 02/12/2017 23:19

I have done my wrists multiple times but they are so tiny my three year old's arent much smaller! Also done my collar bone and toes and suspected one of the bones in my back

DeadButDelicious · 02/12/2017 23:21

My right wrist when I was 8. I fell over in my fisher price roller skates.

My left ankle. I was sat with my leg underneath me, the door went, I got up to answer it and because my leg had gone completely dead I didn't feel my foot bending backwards. Not nice.

My little finger on my right hand. I trapped it in a car door. It went completely flat in the middle. Lovely.

A rib on my right side. Front row of pantera in 2000. Worth it.

Toe on my right foot. My nan had just died, I was in the middle of planning my wedding and I was having a thoroughly rage inducing day. So I lost my temper and booted the sofa. Hard. Right in the wooden frame.

My husband fractured a vertebra in his back falling out of a tree. Fortunately he is ok and made a good recovery.

MaxPepsi · 02/12/2017 23:22

I broke my foot. However I have no idea how or when. Only found out a couple of years ago when I fell and had it xrayed and it showed up on that.

Also broken my cheekbone. I fell face first onto a concrete floor in my late 20's.

Longdistance · 02/12/2017 23:26

Fell down the stairs when we lived in Oz. Smashed my leg against the wall. Broke my tibia and fibula. Had to have surgery and now have 2 metal plates and 19 screws in my right leg. Might feel brave later and show my scars.
I can feel my screws on the outside of my leg.

MsJudgemental · 02/12/2017 23:31

Left ankle and both little toes more than once. Also nose, but that’s not a bone...

crumbsinthecutlerydrawer · 02/12/2017 23:33

Nothing and I’m 35. I chipped a tooth biting a nail though if that counts?

MollyWantsACracker · 02/12/2017 23:47

Never broken a bone and never even been in hospital bar children getting born! I’m v lucky @ 47

MyfatheristheKing · 02/12/2017 23:50

Both my wrists countless times.
My right elbow, had to have an operation to have pins put in and then out again. I got to keep the pins as a child but don’t have them anymore lol.
My right ankle, snapped it really bad and have a huge plate and screws in it. Was in a cast for 9 weeks and wasn’t allowed to weight bare at all on it. Then after was on crutches for another two months and physio for a year. The joys!

DoveBlue · 02/12/2017 23:51

Multiple toes (running into closed patio doors, kicking coffee table etc)
Fingers (at least 3)
Fractured spine in 5 places

yousignup · 02/12/2017 23:52

I broke my leg last year - the boredom!

LackOfAdhesiveDucks · 03/12/2017 00:00

Green stick fracture in my right arm when I was 3 falling off my pony.

Two bones in my left arm tripping and falling at 8. Should have been pinned but weren’t so now my arm is slightly crooked.

Two bones in my right foot at 13 being stepped on by a horse.

Two bones right hand (boxer break) at 14 falling off my horse and punching the ground (accidently) on the way down.

Left wrist at 15 falling off my horse.

The base of my right thumb last year at 30 from my horse leaping sideways into my hand.

My bones break fairly easily (and heal slowly) and if you’re going to ride you’re going to fall...

cardibach · 03/12/2017 00:02

My toe, by dropping a bottle of champagne on it.

DramaAlpaca · 03/12/2017 00:05

No broken bones so far & I'm 53.

photographyaddict · 03/12/2017 00:05

My left pinkie toe, that’s it 😂😂

BrizzleDrizzle · 03/12/2017 01:37

Have also dislocated my kneecap, torn most of the meniscus in one knee and completely tore the ACL in the right one which needed surgically reconstructed. Those hurt way worse than breaking any of those bones.

Agreed, been there done that. The recovery time is much longer too.

oldlaundbooth · 03/12/2017 01:42

Not broken anything officially but fairly sure I broke a toe and my thumb but didn't realise / couldn't be bothered going to the docs.

CactusJelly00 · 03/12/2017 01:43

I broke my arm when I was approx 9-10yrs old.
I was on the trampoline in my mums back garden, the dog kept trying to attack me and I was trying to get away, kind of fell/bounced and landed square on my arm on the concrete path. The dog was rehomed to a no kill shelter that my mum paid ££££ for on the assurance they'd try to rehabilitate him and I had pins put in and was in a cast for what felt like forever...

oldlaundbooth · 03/12/2017 01:46

I managed to break my back in 2 places, knocked myself out falling down the stairs and stupidly didn’t go to A&E (I was at home alone when it happened). It was only picked up a few weeks later when I had a (planned) MRI and two massive breaks were found. I thank my lucky stars every day that I’m ok.

I've never broken anything thankfully. Neither have any of my siblings. I wonder have my family got super freakishly strong bones? Grin

Ginkypig · 03/12/2017 02:13

Il try to remember them all but there's been a few!

All separate incidents from 3 to early 30's

Ankle
Nose
Two toes left foot
Nose again
Two toes right foot
Nose again
Cracked ribs
Nose again (and cheeck)
Thumb
Ribs again (different ones though)
Finger
Nose again
Toes right foot
Same toes a year later

I think that's it Blush

Ginkypig · 03/12/2017 02:16

Oh and bone in top of foot

Topseyt · 03/12/2017 02:32

I have had several fractured ribs due to severe chest infections over the years. Some have shown up on chest x-rays.

In February 2016 I had a fall while in Paris visiting my DD, who was living there as a uni student on a year abroad. I shattered my right arm (radius and ulna), and my ulna was sticking out through the skin.

I now have two metal plates there which were put in to hold the arm together.

toffee1000 · 03/12/2017 02:32

Greenstick fracture on my wrist (forget which, might’ve been right) when I was three, fell down the stairs. That was Friday night/early Saturday morning when I went to hospital to get it put in plaster... the following Thursday my brother was born, so in all the photos of me visiting him in hospital I have a cast on my arm and carpet burn above my lip.

Mammyloveswine · 03/12/2017 04:43

I'm 30 and have never broken a bone... given the amount of times I've drunkenly gone flying in 6 inch heels I'm amazed that this is the case! Currently 36 weeks pregnant so hoping I've not jinxed myself now! Last thing needed with a new born and toddler 🙈
