I was reading the 'broken ankle' thread and was amazed at how many people have broken their ankles or tibula/fibula.

I mean, I know people break bones all the time , but honestly, before my car accident at the age of 39 I had only had a green fracture in my arm at the age of 4.

So here I am thinking I'm all unique Grin with all my broken bones, but I'd actually really like to know about other peoples'.

I'll go first (this was in the car accident in January):

R collarbone
2 ribs (one in two places)
R pelvis
R femur (upper leg)
R tibula/fibula (lower leg)
L femur
L heel

Obviously I'm held together by a lot of metal at the moment Grin but it's better than a head injury or being dead (obviously). And for some reason I am super proud of my scars.

Please tell me your stories? Smile

I’m convinced I’m made from rubber! Never broken a bone but I’ve had the craziest accidents- tons of horse riding falls, I’ve fallen down a flight of stairs, landing on my ankle (nothing but a minor sprain that went away after an hour or so). I’ve had the worst accident on my bicycle, I’ve fallen off a roof, out of trees, I’ve had two car accidents, skateboarding and roller blading accidents including a water ski one. But my bones all in tact and only two minor small scars to show for it.

Four ribs (two sets of two).

First pair, in an accident during a sporting event which is covered by media. Newspaper incorrectly reported I had broken my back which gave my parents rather a shock. tl;dr: nine men broke my ribs through inattention

Second pair, bus during bad weather, very wet floor. I got up for my stop; driver braked hard; I skidded to the front, knocked myself out on the ticket machine and dropped to the floor, landing awkwardly on my bag. tl;dr: got hit by a bus

PortiaCastis · 02/12/2017 19:43

My broken bones were due to ice skating( ankle) ex (all the rest) I'm 37

confused123456 · 02/12/2017 19:46

I'm nearly 25 and I've never broken a bone.
All I've had was chickenpox in January 2011, an ear infection in February 2011, and a sprained ankle in March 2011.

TurtleCavalryIsSeriousShit · 02/12/2017 19:48

Tommy you are made of rubber Smile

MsHathaway Wow!

I had added to the other thread (before it got zapped) that I forgot, I broke my ulna and radius in the accident too. All in all, I had around 11 breaks at one time.

Was anyone sedated for a long time ? I was in an induced coma for 3 weeks. I could write a whole 'nother thread about that.

Ha! My toe and my back!

The toe was me simply being gormless and kicking it into a step the back was entirely different and was me showing off at about 10 years old! Luckily there has been no last damage except for occasional back ache.

The back -i was in a pub playground and it was drizzling! I saw a boy I liked the look of and obviously being the cool cat I was thought I would impress him by walking down the damp metal slide. I slipped and twisted and fell hard on the metal sides of the slides breaking one of my vertebrae. I never tried to impress a boy again!

bigsighall · 02/12/2017 19:58

All in separate incidents...
Coccyx (bloody painful!!)
Back (not as painful as coccyx!)
Wrist
Nose
Foot
Foot again
Fingers

Thought that was a fairly normal number of breaks until I read this thread (I’m in 30’s)

cheeseslovesme · 02/12/2017 20:01

I have broken my back and toes in a motorcycle accident, and have broken my nose too.

stardust18 · 02/12/2017 20:05

I've never broken a bone and I've just turned 36

EverythingEverywhere1234 · 02/12/2017 20:10

All my toes, multiple times, except my left big toe which I've only broken once
Right little finger twice, right index finger, right thumb twice
Left thumb 3 times, left index and middle finger at the same time once, left little finger once
Left wrist
Ribs (various) three times
Some bone in my right elbow once
Right ankle once

I'm a farmer, and have horses... enough said!! I also have hEDS which means I've had countless (seriously) dislocations and partial dislocations, the most recent was last night when I dislocated my little finger clapping Confused luckily I have the knack now for getting them back in!!

Ribbonnu · 02/12/2017 20:10

None - age 44
I feel like I am on borrowed time...

AmaraSas · 02/12/2017 20:20

44 years young and never broken one bone, got knackered tendons a ligaments tho.

1DAD2KIDS · 02/12/2017 20:21

My nose (maybe more than once) - Rugby age 14 (first one) never go treament.

R little finger knuckle - bit of a scrap, took a swing missed and hit a metal signpost age 19

R collarbone (bar far the worst injury) - playing in playground, caused by a girl, I was age 8

A couple of stress fractures in my foot (if they count). Probably repetitive impact from training. Late 20s

BrizzleDrizzle · 02/12/2017 20:23

None, I'm in my 50s and have osteoporosis so this is a miracle.

Oysterbabe · 02/12/2017 20:26

Little toe only in a severe stumping incident. Fuck me it hurt though.
There's been little else in my whole family actually except for one of my brothers who seems to have got everyone's share. A bus ran over his legs and shattered them so they're mostly metalwork. He got hit by a car and broke his arm. He almost severed his thumb at work a couple of years back.

SparklyUnicornPoo · 02/12/2017 20:28

Big toe age 2
Little toe age 4
Little finger age 5 and again recently
Nose age 7
Ankle, age 8
2 ribs age 9
Wrist - 3 times, age 10, 14 and 18 (left once, right twice)
Collar bone age 11
Patellar (knee) age 11
Index finger age 12
Jaw age 16

I feel I should point out I had a brilliant childhood, there are very outing stories to most of them which basically boil down to one of my brothers saying 'i bet you can't...' and me going 'yeah I can' and it going wrong.

IamnotaStepfordHousewife · 02/12/2017 20:30

None not sure how!

rosy71 · 02/12/2017 20:30

I broke my left elbow last year aged 45. Never broken anything else.

allegretto · 02/12/2017 20:33

I was fine until I hit my thirties when I smashed my elbow to smithereens. It couldn't be mended. 😣 I did it in a skiing lesson that dh persuaded me to take - should have followed my instincts and said no!

mishfish · 02/12/2017 20:33

Fractured my Left elbow, wrist and hand (only wrist and hand together though).

Had my femur removed if that counts 😁

Lackingimagination6 · 02/12/2017 20:33

Broke ankle roller skating aged 8ish.

Broke two ribs coughing (pneumonia) aged 25.

Wrist bones all collapsed aged 40 (arthritis).

I'm 41.

Uumellmahaye · 02/12/2017 20:33

My nose when I was 16

HelloCanYouHearMe · 02/12/2017 20:34

Nose aged 6
a rib on the right after a hearty sneeze aged 20
2 bones in my right foot earlier this year

allegretto · 02/12/2017 20:35

Oh and I broke my coccyx giving birth. I told the midwife (I felt and heard it crack) and she said to pull myself together. Bitch.
