Taking inspiration from the other threat running.

My DH is very hard to buy for.

His hobby is mountain biking but he has some health issues At the moment which stop him from doing that.

He has recently gone on a much needed shopping spree and so has pretty much a new wardrobe.

He has just bought a new tv wit some inheritance.

He has an iPad and fancy headphones.

He doesn’t really do books.

He has a leather hold-all and wash bag I bought a few xmases ago.

I do not know what to buy!!!!!!!!

What are you buying for your other halves? Inspiration needed!!

dp is horrendous to buy for but so far I have got him 2 lamps from HERE which will fit in with our record wall collection. I am utterly obsessed with this shop wondering what to buy next!

ColonelJackONeil · 24/11/2017 19:56

I just get a list from him he doesn't like surprises. I normally get him some chocs and maybe a little novelty gift.

dingdongdigeridoo · 24/11/2017 19:59

Mini SNES. Can’t go wrong with that really. I decided to just stick with one big thing rather than do lots of little presents.

Thread is providing good inspiration for my dad! I usually get him tickets for stuff but can’t see any bands he likes with upcoming shows. Any washed up 70s rockers doing reunions?

Wineandrosesagain · 24/11/2017 20:03

ugg slippers because mine (that he bought) are so comfy and have lasted 5 years so far
CD player (and bluetooth, usb whatever all the connectivity stuff is - don't get it but can buy it following guidance from super duper music site)
Yacht master sailing course/exam
Lovely wool scarf and leather gloves (he has lost his)
books on his interests and some by authors I know he loves but hasn't yet read
some special cufflinks from dear daughter that she spotted and which we know he will love

Whitecovers · 24/11/2017 20:03

I've ordered game of thrones monopoly, I also got him some wireless earphones but I've decided to have them instead Wink

rackhampearl · 24/11/2017 20:08

Mines got his fave aftershave, socks, naice choccies, and The most amazing robe that’s gonna make him look like a sexy Viking/james bond in spectre. That’s as far as I’m going, we have been together 10 years so I’ve already got him all the wallets, watch, scarf ect , see attached pic of robe Wink

We've both agreed on nothing this year, which I know sounds quite boring but this year money is tight due to house extension so our present to each other is a nice meal out on Christmas Eve and we've got £100 on an M&S card due to swapping bank accounts so a trip there for yummy food and drink for Christmas Day/Boxing Day.

Paperdolly · 24/11/2017 20:29

Thanks to the poster re the bacon curing kit. I've ordered 3 kits for the blokes I need to buy for plus other items! Lovely! 👍😊❤️

packofshunts · 24/11/2017 20:31

Zero... that website is brilliant! Have ordered a Smiths clock for DH

annandale · 24/11/2017 20:32

Muck boots from muckbootcompany.co.uk.

My dad had cancer, one of the most used things we got him was a really long charging cable for Ipad/phone for use in hospital bed or when having chemo where the plug may be a bit of a stretch. The best ones were from Primark! Fabric wrapped and double ‘headed’ for iPhone and standard usb charging £3.99 we’ve all got one now.
My mum got him a smaller size smart tv for bedroom so he could access Netflix and the like without too much hassle, that got a lot of use too.

Crazycatladyx5 · 24/11/2017 22:14

Game of thrones monopoly & mug, weekend bag, car Hoover (cos he complains about my dogs hairs in his car!), chopping boards, apron & chilli plant, (he likes cooking) beard care kit....I bought him aftershave but he's grown a beard!

Jubejube1 · 24/11/2017 22:45

Wow! I’m astonished that adults bother!
And so many unnecessarily expensive gadgets & toys for fully grown men.
It bypasses me. I’d rather give money to a charity. Most adults just buy whatever they want for themselves so why dredge up stuff to buy. Consumerism gone mad. Grow up.

AndNoneForGretchenWieners · 24/11/2017 22:46

longhair the charging cable is an awesome idea! We have a new smart telly in the bedroom, exactly for the reasons you mention. They are so useful aren't they?

MumW · 24/11/2017 23:01

Not everyone is in the position to afford whatever they want whenever they want so Xmas/birthdays are for those little luxuries that cannot be justified normally. Get Real

DeadButDelicious · 24/11/2017 23:20

I have no fucking idea to be honest. He is quite possibly the least 'materialistic' person I've ever met. We've been together for 13 years and I think I've seen him buy new clothes once. He will use things until they absolutely have to be replaced. He doesn't buy physical cds and dvds now, he prefers to stream, he doesn't drink, he does smoke but I won't encourage that and he doesn't use aftershave etc. He's a swine to buy for. The only thing I can think of is a day ticket for the bloodstock festival as his favourite band are headlining on the Friday. But they don't go on sale until nearer the time so it would have to be an IOU. He wouldn't want to go to the whole weekend.

AngerNowCBA · 24/11/2017 23:24

2 books he's asked for.

mehhh · 24/11/2017 23:25

Op jo Malone candles are lovely

I don't burn mine very often as I'm a "save for special" kind of person, they last a while and don't loose the sent either

I usually use Yankee and light the jo malone ones if we have people round etc or a time when I can enjoy it in the bath etc Smile

TowerRavenSeven · 24/11/2017 23:27

3D printer. Fedora. Tuxedo. Bow ties. These all from his list, also stocking stuffers inc brandy filled chocolates and other things I think he'd like.

TheresSomebodyAtTheDoor · 24/11/2017 23:53

Kitchenaid and mountain biking art!

NellyTimes · 25/11/2017 07:52

A fire pit
Cheese board and knives

Richard Osman's World Cup of Everything book
Monty Python t-shirt

SargeantAngua · 25/11/2017 09:09

It was DPs birthday on Thursday and he got
A Swiss army penknife card
A jar of bacon jam
A roll of toilet paper with Donald Trump's face on (I was rather pleased with that one!)
