Taking inspiration from the other threat running.

My DH is very hard to buy for.

His hobby is mountain biking but he has some health issues At the moment which stop him from doing that.

He has recently gone on a much needed shopping spree and so has pretty much a new wardrobe.

He has just bought a new tv wit some inheritance.

He has an iPad and fancy headphones.

He doesn’t really do books.

He has a leather hold-all and wash bag I bought a few xmases ago.

I do not know what to buy!!!!!!!!

What are you buying for your other halves? Inspiration needed!!

There was another great thread recently which I got some ideas from which included
Wallet ninja
Magazine subscription (I got stuff)
Grid it
Im then getting the standard chocs, pjs, socks and a couple of other bits. I’ve also booked us a night away so we can have a break from the kids but that’s for both of us really

Girlsworld92 · 25/11/2017 09:34

Someone suggested a subscription to beerbods which looks good. I’m saving that for next time though

Howyoualldoworkme · 25/11/2017 09:36

Architectural Lego. That should keep him occupied :)

Mooncuplanding · 25/11/2017 09:44

Nothing here too

We are going to do something though...each cook the other an (amazing) meal, chose a poem that we want to share, watch a movie that we each chose.

This is the first time we've done this but the thought of having to go through what people are on this thread again in finding a perfect gift makes me wanna puke

howdoyoudecide · 25/11/2017 10:24

After reading everyone’s replies I am going to go with a hamper. Going to put in:
A candle
Fancy moisturiser
Posh cheese and biscuits
Retro sweets and chocolate
Hot choc
Nice coffee
Maybe some new cuff links
And maybe a silly game or something

Another trip to New York, can't wait to see his face!

Longhairmightcare · 25/11/2017 11:19

Wow! I’m astonished that adults bother!
And so many unnecessarily expensive gadgets & toys for fully grown men.

It bypasses me. I’d rather give money to a charity. Most adults just buy whatever they want for themselves so why dredge up stuff to buy. Consumerism gone mad. Grow up.

jubejube Oh my Gosh you are amazing, and so much better than everyone on this thread. Has anyone told you that? I feel like someone should tell you that. Just really, wow, an excellent example of a human being 👏🏼👏🏼 big big WELL DONE.

formerbabe · 25/11/2017 12:05

I agree...adults buying other adults Christmas presents is ridiculous. Even more ridiculous when the vast majority of couples will have joint finances/bank accounts.

howdoyoudecide · 25/11/2017 12:59

It isn’t about the actual gift. It is about the other person taking the time to think about something that will make you happy, make you smile and bring enjoyment to you. It’s about them making the effort to do something for you. Of course my dH does little things all through the year but I like the fact that he spends some time to think about what I would like and then put effort into findin it and wrapping it.

My husband is getting a PS4 and a replacement of a mug we got from Disney, and he broke not long after we got home.

It's the first Christmas present I've bought him in 3 years. So excited!

anotherprosecco · 25/11/2017 13:42

Amazon Echo, a gadget he can play around with.

AndNoneForGretchenWieners · 25/11/2017 14:18

Architectural Lego! Why haven't I heard of this before? DSS will love it.

SolemnlySwear2010 · 25/11/2017 14:23

We always book a night away somewhere fancy as part of our Christmas and then just get each other small things.

I love having a night away to look forward to after Christmas/ New Year

Ahardmanisgoodtofind · 25/11/2017 14:32

I wanted to get a mini snes but sold out everywhere and can't afford the inflated Amazon prices so might get one of the knock off one from eBay and hope it works. Other wise tickets to something or other if I can afford it. I'd love to spoil him but just can't afford it.

YouCantBeSirius · 25/11/2017 14:42

Assassin's Creed Origins for the PS4
The season pass for the game
3 t-shirts
2 DVD box sets
Bloody Warhammer figures Hmm

bunbon · 25/11/2017 14:43

Ahardmanisgoodtofind are you or your DP techy at all? If so a raspberry pi is a great option, you can put loads of games onto it. I put one together for my partner a few years ago for his birthday and they're great fun to build if he's into that sort of thing and there are loads of guides online.

Ahardmanisgoodtofind · 25/11/2017 14:56

bunbon thanks for the suggestion but neither of us is particularly techy, i get confused by the sky box
That's what I'm thinking but wary because I am clueless. m.ebay.co.uk/itm/Retro-TV-Video-Games-Mini-8-Bit-Console-Built-in-500-Games-Christmas-Present/292301571359?hash=item440e88051f:m:mqf7zG9zg4fkmmuDFjOMRxg

clearsommespace · 25/11/2017 18:08

I don't treat feel justified in treating myself to luxuries. (I spend my spare money on visiting friends)
Last year for Christmas I got a new better version of something I use for my hobby at least 4 times a week and it has improved my life. I would never have got around to treating myself but instead would have waited years until the old one would no longer 'do'.

Whatsername17 · 25/11/2017 18:10

We've both been on shared parental leave so we are only getting each other a couple of cheap bits from the kids this year. If you can afford it, is boom a weekend away. We went to Bruges one year and it was lovely.

Whatsername17 · 25/11/2017 18:11

Id book not is boom!

Cocolepew · 25/11/2017 18:17

Bruce Dickinson autobiography
Jack Daniels
Dark Side of the Moon t shirt

LexieLulu · 25/11/2017 18:23

I've got my DH a stubble trimmer(? Is that what it's called), an update to a really old one that doesn't charge so well.

I'm getting him a subscription to a curry thingy, like a recipe with ingredients - I figured we could make it a date night once a month.

I'll get done other bits like his favourite chocolates, slippers (that I end up stealing) then will give him money to spend in January sales x

LexieLulu · 25/11/2017 18:25

Ooh I forgot, I've ordered this cheap projector type screen that increased your iPhone size to tablet size. If it works good he'll use that in work.

Power banks and external hard drives have always been a good gift for the tech minded

NeverUseThisName · 25/11/2017 18:27

A bottle of nice whiskey. It'll last him for years!

(The description sounds nice - I don't drink the stuff, but he likes it.)

A1Sharon · 25/11/2017 18:28

Celtic & Co Windsor slippers(a must every year)
Hermes tie
Manterol blanket
Cheese/chutney/crackers
Baileys
Thinking about a cornerstone razor

DH has very expensive taste Confused
