A Balsam Hill one.

I deeply dislike the look of fake trees usually which means we spend £50+ every year on a real one, which then spends January forlorn in the garden before we get round to chopping it up and getting rid of it. It’s a ball ache.

I’ve read lots of amazing things about the BH realistic ones, and I’ve seen one we like online but it’s £318! I don’t mind investing in it but I’ve never seen one in real life and I’d rather not chuck them £30 for a sample as that seems an utter pisstake.

Does anyone here have one? Do they look super real or is it hype? The reviews are good tbf but I wanted to canvas opinions before we commit to it.

Went for the Nordmann pre-lit in the end - good choice ??

Roussette · 17/11/2017 06:42

Tree No. 2 has been shipped! Now have to think of what to do with tree no.1 which is taking up a good part of the lounge as I've been practising my floofing

CredulousThickos · 17/11/2017 09:15

Ours is the Nordmann prelit. It’s lovely. Although I can’t seem to stop primping it.

Roussette, love the idea of practise floofing! If you find you've run out of branches to floof, can we hire out your services?!

GoingRogue · 17/11/2017 10:56

Yeah Roussette ... my tree has been erected since Weds afternoon and not a jot of floofing has been done thus far Sad I have a load of housework to do today before I can don my silky grey gloves and start practising the art.

You're not in the South West by any chance are you? Perhaps you could rent your services!

If you have the money then go for it.
Personally I like fake trees. But each to their own

Roussette · 17/11/2017 12:12

betty I feel I'm not a good floofer as there's still gaps!

Goingrogue yes! However, I'm useless at this sort of thing, far too impatient.

Doorbell just gone and same UPS guy delivering no.2 tree and said 'you must've really liked the first one to get another'! We are now officially awash with Christmas trees! However, took our 28 year old one up to our local hospice shop and they were absolutely delighted with it.

One good thing about these BH trees, they don't drop. By that I mean no artificial trees drop like real ones but our old tree did make a bit of a mess. DH has said "what the hell are we doing with all these trees"... if only he could mend floofed no.1 to save me standing holding it for hours Grin

How are we all getting on with our new trees? Here's my 6ft BH Balsam Fir all finished...wish I'd got the 7ft Norway Spruce now ! As it was a similar diameter and the same price. Always get buyers remorse though.

We think ours is too bright! Can't actually see any of th decorations. Only put it up today and only have some of th decorations n so far but the lights seem too bright or too many. Which I never thought I'd say! I'm going to take everything off tomorrow and start again.

GoingRogue · 07/12/2017 13:23

Oh no CiderwithBuda! The lights are very bright. Hadn't really thought about it before, but I guess some of my decs are harder to see now.

I'm really happy with mine now though Smile

Thought I'd post a before and after. DH complained bitterly that I felt I needed to upgrade our 16 year old, £5.99 woolies Christmas tree.

I think these picture prove I was right Grin

I can’t stand the smell of real trees

Thank god I'm not the only one, I hate the smell of real trees. We had one once, never again.
