AIBU to be excited it's nearly Autumn

Hello all, new to Mumsnet and not sure if this post is in the appropriate place? Sorry if not...

Anyway, was having a discussion with the ladies at work about how the tree leaves are already starting to change colour. The nights are slowly drawing back in and it feels cooler (although it seems to have warmed up again today).

This got me feeling excited as I absolutely love autumn and the '...ber' months!

Apart from one colleague who feels the same, the others think I'm strange for loving Autumn!

Anyone else? :D

It is Autumn. August September and October are the months of Autumn. At least they were when I was in school.

Love love love Autumn, always have. Crisp bright days, crunchy leaves, smoky smells in the air, big coats, gorgeous colours...can't wait! :)

My favourite time of year too! All the lovely colours, the smell of bonfires, chilly evenings...

I want more beach lazing around walking.

I prefer autumn to summer in the UK.
However, i saw the big tin of sweets in tesco today for christmas.
Thought that was a bit early..
This year has flown by.

I love autumn! October is possibly my favourite month, not hot but not cold and can get a bit cosy plus all the beautiful colours of nature. AND the slow build up to Christmas 🙈

Maybe Ireland has different ones. Feb March April spring, may June July summer August September October autumn and November December January winter.

Me too! September is when I get excited, I love all the changing colours of the leaves, the cooler days and chilly nights, the fashion - I'm obsessed with coats and I like wearing boots, the run up to Christmas, the frost etc. Not as much a fan of winter but autumn is the best

Commonsense we use the old Celtic calendar. It's always confusing for non Irish folks.

I absolutely love autumn. I love the nights drawing in, cooler weather, autumn clothing, events to look forward to; Halloween, bonfire night and then the countdown to Christmas. Yep I'm with with you all the way OP!

Well I never realised that we use a Gaelic calender in Ireland. So I'm wrong for here and right for home
