Hello all, new to Mumsnet and not sure if this post is in the appropriate place? Sorry if not...

Anyway, was having a discussion with the ladies at work about how the tree leaves are already starting to change colour. The nights are slowly drawing back in and it feels cooler (although it seems to have warmed up again today).

This got me feeling excited as I absolutely love autumn and the '...ber' months!

Apart from one colleague who feels the same, the others think I'm strange for loving Autumn!

Anyone else? :D

That sounds lovely cailleach666 we don't have trick or treating at Halloween here but we do have something similar the Saturday before Easter when children dress as witches and go door to door saying a traditional blessing for the coming year and handing out decorated pussy willow twigs in exchange for sweets or money.

The build up to Halloween when we visited New England was lovely.

Has anyone seen the programme about people living in Churchill in Canada? The children have to dodge the polar bears when out trick or treating.

In this country we have crisps, clear day as often as we have hot days in summer. What we get is cool, wet days, doggy leaves making the roads dangerous.Mud from the fields all over lanes and roads, bit like black ice if you drive around a corner.Never seeing daylight, drive to work in the dark and home in the dark.
And for some poor people flooding again.

I love Autumn, it's my favourite season. I'd be even more excited if we'd had a better summer though Sad

Forgot the leaves on the line to be closely followed by the wrong type of snow.😁
