AIBU?
Offensive Note On Car Today Whilst Shopping
Drycleanonly7 · 31/07/2017 19:45
...to feel saddened.
After shopping with my husband and three year old I discovered I had been left the following note under my wipers: "You stupid bitch. Where's your child? You have parked in a mother and baby space. Did you leave them at home?"
My three year old sat in the trolley today as we shopped. He arrivived in his car seat.
People disappoint me all the time at the moment. I did get the Manager to check the CCTV but they didnt see the note being placed.

Christ alive, you must be the happiest luckiest person on the planet if that note caused you such anguish. Most of us would have laughed and wondered if the idiot was watching you wanted the ground to swallow them up when they spotted you returning with your child.

I'm confused. Was his car seat in your car? I don't think I know of a three year old's car seat that fits in a trolley (or should be in a trolley regardless). Happy to be corrected.
Seems like overreacting all around though. They shouldn't have left a note but I certainly wouldn't have wasted time over the CCTV, what was to be achieved?

Argh so annoying when people do that kind of this anonymously so you can't correct them and are just left feeling rubbish. Someone once put a note on our car complaining we were parked in front of a drop curb... Only we weren't but the car in front was, I can only assume that in their anger they'd put it on the wrong car. But they were long gone so all I could do was stand there looking at the note saying 'but I didn't' to myself

If they saw you were a woman (which I infer they did, from their use of 'bitch') then they would have seen you unloading your child.
Also, I think dads are allowed to park there too, ditto grandparents etc or anyone with a child, so I don't think it's a 'mother' and baby space.
Therefore I conclude the note writer is a fucking idiot and should be pitied.
Drycleanonly7 · 31/07/2017 19:57
I was starting to think that too April. The only time I wasn't with my family was when I collected the blinking trolley. I know it's something and nothing and there are worse things out there. It helps to air it here though, so thanks for the support.

Its a mean spirited note - but don't let it bother you. It is the note writer who has the issues not you (he / she must be an unhappy person). Could have been worse - antisocial behaviour seems to be prevalent these days and I wouldn't have been surprised if your car was scratched sadly ...

Revolt
Revolt by name and revolting by nature it appears.
Dryclean hasn't gone over the top with her remarks - okay, maybe most of us wouldn't have asked to see the CCTV, but so what? Maybe it would have turned out to be someone she knew - a neighbour she'd pee'd off for some reason.
You don't need to be quite so mean.

So, Drycleanonly7, there was a car seat in the car when you were shopping? Very strange that this person noticed you but not your children or an obvious child's seat in your apparently offensive parking. Also, still unsure about what you were hoping would happen with the CCTV? I think the person you're describing is evidently extremely short sighted and not worthy of anyone's energy.
