Found out there's a letter in my kids medical file. Basically saying they don't have what they have. The conditions are not non specific and Untestable. Think for example (but it's not these conditions as dont want to give identifying info Downs syndrome, haemophilia and asthma) stuff you can't make up basically.

Anyway I said to my Drs why have it accepted this? They said they accepted it in good faith? Again I said but you KNOW the kids DO have these conditions ?? It's proven so you've accepted a letter from someone who is just lying and you have the medical info and test results right there you should have written back saying that no the child does have x,y,z and that should be the end of it???

What On earth are they thinking? I'm furious and they won't give me a straight answer

I think they have to keep it as evidence and records. It doesn't suggest that they believe it. If I were you I'd want to query the source, policy and procedure for such a thing.

Down's syndrome is testable.

As in another Dr thinks you have Munchausenns maybe? (not sure of spelling) or a family member /other?

Who is the letter from ? A senior consultant who specialises int he condition is very different from a school teacher or your next door neighbour.

I would think anything sent has to go on the file. It's not their choice to file it or not, it doesn't mean the doctor agrees with it. As for sending letters back, that would breach confidentiality. I'm sure the doctor knows the real situation so I wouldn't worry about it being in the file.

Contact the practise manager and PALS to get to the bottom of this. I am assuming it id from another medical professional to have been blindly accepted, if not that's even more worrying. Do not back down until it has been removed or amended.

I just want the gp to somehow acknowledge that it's false not all this we accepted it In good faith bollocks? They've been our go for years. They know us. Why the hell are they letting someone make ridiculous wild accusations that are impossible

Gosh, that's not good and yes I agree you need answers especially whether they replied to put them straight.

an autoimmune/blood condition
Another autoimmune condition

All proven through actual tests. So why has this been allowed I said to the gp why didn't you write back and said no, the child has x,y,z and actually stick up for us as what's been said is basically there are no conditions or no evidence of the conditions when it's all been tested for ???

I would go back very calmly to the medical centre and ask what the implications are. If there are any, then work out what you should do next.

Which medical file is this in? Do you know exactly what the school nurse says and why is it offensive? is it denying the illness/medical condition? Does it impact on their treatment or reflect on them or you in some way?

But why did the school nurse write to the GP? Was s/he answering a letter from the GP, or writing spontaneously as a result of something that happened at school? if the test results are in the file and the practice accepts the condition as diagnosed, it shouldn't matter what anyone else thinks - unless the nurse's treatment of your child is affected by a refusal to accept the condition as being real.

They have no say over what other professionals choose to write in a letter, doesnt mean they believe it though. You'd be better taking it up with the person who actually wrote the letter.

Sadly it's no surprise to me. I know of someone who had similar happen, in fact was threatened with all sorts even though their child was demonstrably ill, with their condition causing a whole host of secondary illnesses that required hospitalisation. Child had several consultants to verify said illnesses, but it will never be enough for some jobsworths or ignorant family members.

I'd be down the school asking the nurse why she sent that letter, what was the purpose of them sending it?

It's full of crap. That children don't have proveable tested for and diagnosed by a consultant conditions. Stuff like I've had daily childcare for free and a cleaner for free (I haven't?) and that I lied about the 'supposed disabilities' for attention and control
I want to scream at them as they are REAL conditions??? They them selves have the bloody test results etc right there in front of them. I am furious as nobody is listening. It's like this nurse can say what she wants and get away with it nobody says to her hang on a minute we know the family it's true they do have x,y,z

3 times now I've gone back to the gp to say it's not acceptable and they don me off basically saying a health professionals opinion is valid? How so, if that opinion is totally ridiculous and wrong

Can't get hold of her she was an agency nurse and the service manager told me she will not enter into the matter I have to go to PALS
She had been into school once and didn't like it that my child had 1:1 care and it seems to all stem from that as she said she had never come across a child with those needs having 1:1. She has then written this awful letter ???
