Found out there's a letter in my kids medical file. Basically saying they don't have what they have. The conditions are not non specific and Untestable. Think for example (but it's not these conditions as dont want to give identifying info Downs syndrome, haemophilia and asthma) stuff you can't make up basically.

Anyway I said to my Drs why have it accepted this? They said they accepted it in good faith? Again I said but you KNOW the kids DO have these conditions ?? It's proven so you've accepted a letter from someone who is just lying and you have the medical info and test results right there you should have written back saying that no the child does have x,y,z and that should be the end of it???

What On earth are they thinking? I'm furious and they won't give me a straight answer

As far as your GP goes, they will need to keep it on file. However, you can ask for a note to be added specifying that you disagree with the information and why.

Really, you need to be taking this up with the school, if that's who employs the school nurse. It would be for them to explain why she's provided this information.

ItsAllGoingToBeFine · 17/07/2017 19:49

Just to clarify,

Has your GP kept this letter in the file, or have they also amended your DCs record to reflect what was in the letter.

Surely if your DC has been tested for, and has the conditions, then the GP would.simply ignore the letter?

Was the testing carried out by the NHS in this country?

WhatTheACTUALaarrgghh · 17/07/2017 19:50

She was employed by the LA but was an agency nurse so was temp staff

AdoraBell · 17/07/2017 19:50

I would ask for a copy of the test results and then book an appointment with the HT and nurse to discuss what the fuck is going on.

64PooLane · 17/07/2017 19:50

That's so bizarre. I'd be horrified.

Not sure what you can do, but surely it can't be ok Confused

WhatTheACTUALaarrgghh · 17/07/2017 19:50

Yes all tests and diagnosis in this country on NHS

Are your children still under a consultant? If so could the consultant write to GP and especially school nurse and put her right?

WhatTheACTUALaarrgghh · 17/07/2017 19:52

I've got copies and I've sent them to the school nurse service, gp (even though they have them already) school etc and gone through the letter point by point with evidence to show each and every point is rubbish.
I see that they have to keep it in file but I feel they should acknowledge that they know it is false too and shouldn't have been written but they are taking the line that all health professionals opinions are valid etc etc when they can see this woman was acting maliciously for whatever reason

OP posts:
AdoraBell · 17/07/2017 19:52

The agency can call her in for a meeting.

WhatTheACTUALaarrgghh · 17/07/2017 19:52

Yes I've had letters off all involved to support me

I'd consider complaining to the NMC if she's maliciously lied about your children. (Saying she hasn't seen any symptoms of xyz might be different).

WhatTheACTUALaarrgghh · 17/07/2017 19:53

From googling I think she has her own agency to just hire herself out (?) itbwas hard to tell but it is the conclusion I've come too as she has an agency in her name and she is a the sole employee it seems and is herself an agency nurse (I don't know how it works properly)

OP posts:
ItsAllGoingToBeFine · 17/07/2017 19:53

In that case I would formally complain about the nurse, hopefully with your practice's backup. The nurse can't possibly diagnose a condition like that, and the letter from her is simply bizarre. It shouldn't make any difference to DLA etc as you have the test results.

As a professional her opinion is valid, but not as valid as actual test results, and the opinion of your DCs doctor.

IStoleDipsysHat · 17/07/2017 19:54

Move schools, this is ringing massive alarm bells. Put in a complaint about them to the head/LEA/her professional body as it seems very odd given there are actual quantifiable tests and results of said tests disproving her.

Have you posted about this before? This person seems to have a personal grudge of some kind.

WhatTheACTUALaarrgghh · 17/07/2017 19:54

She claimed to have done a thorough investigation ...

OP posts:
user1497480444 · 17/07/2017 19:55

so what you are saying is that as a health care professional, she was asked her opinion, she gave her opinion, and her opinion has been filed.

Sorry, but you have no grounds for complaint. Health care professionals are not always going to agree with each other. You not liking her opinion doesn't make it any less correct for her to give it.

BrokenBattleDroid · 17/07/2017 19:56

Could they have meant another healthcare workers opinion is valid enough to store in the file, but not that anyone would necessarily take stock of it if it's clearly incorrect and full of unsubstantiated opinions (whereas an angry next door neighbour writing in with their opinion would go straight in the bin).

Medical people frequently disagree about things, but they wouldn't just delete each other's records and letters.

WhatTheACTUALaarrgghh · 17/07/2017 19:56

She wasn't working at the school just for local community service. The school have been supportive and written in support of us and they recognise the diagnoses and care needs
Yes I've posted before about it but I've ahain as I'm totally frustrated and angry that I and being treated and fobbed off like this

OP posts:
BrokenBattleDroid · 17/07/2017 19:57

Is there a consequence to her letter that you are fearing?

WhatTheACTUALaarrgghh · 17/07/2017 19:58

If her opinion was in any way plausible I could sort of understand but she surely can't even be qualified if she can't see that x test=x condition etc and then all the added spiteful lies form absolutely nowhere ?
The fact I've repeatedly qualified why each point is intire and provided evidence too i have no idea how she can get away with it. It's not written as concern or opinion it's written as 'this person is lying and also here are some added rumours I've thrown in just to make her look lazy'

OP posts:
VeryButchyRestingFace · 17/07/2017 19:59

Crazy Parent Syndrome is not currently testable and manifests itself in many ways.

What's your point?

Nurse sounds highly unprofessional and weirdly over involved if she's only met your kids briefly, OP?

WhatTheACTUALaarrgghh · 17/07/2017 19:59

I don't think there could be a consequence as everything is proveabke I'm just deeply upset this can happen and be in the records ? It seems ludicrous

OP posts:
FiveGoMadInDorset · 17/07/2017 19:59

You can put in a complaint about her to the NMC
