(Lighthearted)

Aibu to think the tiramisu is the best dessert in the planet by miles? All that yummy squishy goodness, the marscapone, the shot of coffee, the taste of alcohol....

My family think I am strange. My mum said "we didn't raise you to like things like tiramisu". I think she thinks I have ideas above my station....
We were bought up on neon food - fishfingers, chips and angel delight. Grin

In my 36 years on the planet I have only ever met one other who likes this manna, this taste from heaven. Conversely, she was Italian.

Any things you like and find yourself in the minority?

(Just at specialist waiting room and bored Grin )

Also a tiramisu lover. Have to confess I think it is one of my favourite desserts, the other is warm cherry pie with just a little bit of whipped cream.

goose1964 · 05/07/2017 18:23

You are totally wrong, it's like coffee flavoured slime. Apple and blackberry crumble with vanilla ice cream is the best

Dippysnowoman · 05/07/2017 18:26

I'm with you...love love love tiramisu. Though I'm the only one I know who does!

SpongySand · 05/07/2017 18:26

Banoffee pie

Mollie85 · 05/07/2017 18:26

Goose - the humble Grin crumble is indeed a strong contender, but does it have the panache or prestige of a good tiramisu?

I think not...

It is divine. My DSis makes an amazing one in wine glasses that has generous amounts of booze in it. And now I want some..

TowerRose · 05/07/2017 18:27

YANBU, if it's on the menu anywhere it's a guarantee I'll order it

nina2b · 05/07/2017 18:27

It is the best! Mmmmmmmmmmm

Mollie85 · 05/07/2017 18:28

I love tiramisu even though I hate coffee

Mollie85 · 05/07/2017 18:29

I am so pleased I have found like minded people - do we need a specialist club with a secret handshake and a password? Or will we just find each other in the chiller aisle in the supermarket? Grin

Yes. All the way. I had a great home made one once in the heart of Pisa. Went really well with the carafe of wine Wine

QuackDuckQuack · 05/07/2017 18:30

I love the creamy bit, but I'm disappointed with the spongy bit. And some versions of tiramisu are awful. Supermarket ones seem to use some sort of industrial alcohol.

JustDanceAddict · 05/07/2017 18:30

I love it too - when it's done well.

BigApple11 · 05/07/2017 18:31

#TeamTiramisu even though it gives me a huge tummy ache

Oh I'm in - it's only the thought of popping to the co-op afterwards for coffee flavoured yumminess getting me through this examination Grin

I love tiramisu. I saw some in M and S yesterday--seems to be new (I've never seen them before).

I also love their chocolate cheesecake (the single slice sold with the sandwiches/lunch stuff).

Broccolirevolution · 05/07/2017 18:34

I would eat it every day. It's the best!

WeddingsAreStressful · 05/07/2017 18:36

Homemade/good restaurant tiramisu is absolute heaven!

Agree that supermarket ones sometimes taste like sludge with industrial alcohol.

PeachHalves · 05/07/2017 18:37

You're right, it's the best.

My DH makes an awesome tiramisu. We are on another diet Grin

SleightOfHand · 05/07/2017 18:40

Tiramisu is my favorite dessert too. Now, OP, what shop bought one do you think is best? Mine is Asda's, even better than M&S, I fined theirs a bit too thick cream wise. I know the Asda one's sponge has more liquid but I like it, more flavour.
Have you tried Tesco's lemoncello? Oow, I am now undecided whether I like it even more, now that's saying something.

TiredMumToTwo · 05/07/2017 18:40

Tiramisu is literally my favourite thing of all time, am on a diet at the moment and am feeling bad as have just nicked three rolos off my youngest child but if there was a vat of tiramisu in front of me now, I'd willingly pile on the 10 lbs I've lost so far!!
