To ask cat owners for good name suggestions?

Getting a kitten soon. DH doesn't care for cats or their names, four stupid suggestions from DC's. AIBU to think that Play-Doh, Meatballs, Tootsie and Muppet are all truly dire names for a cat that I will have to call -loudly - (not them).

AIBU? If I'm not can cat owners give me some genuine non-twatty suggestions for the new kitten?

TIA.

My little black kitten is called Roisin Dubh.

ProfPlumInTheLibrary · 22/05/2017 13:56

How do you pronounce that name Materdolores? It looks like a lovely name. My cats are called Alice and Dave.

GeillisTheWitch · 22/05/2017 13:57

We need kitty pictures before we can say.

WhatInTheWorld76 · 22/05/2017 13:57

Two of our cats' names are related to where we went on honeymoon (they were born while we were away), and the latest kitten was named by DD1 after a well known cat in children's fiction, books that she adores.

I think it's nice to make it unique to your family if you can.

We have always given them proper names.
Latest is Mavis.

BikeRunSki · 22/05/2017 14:05

Our cars have always had people names; Barney, Sebastian and Zachary (brothers); Eddie, Kizzy and Meg. Meg already had her nane when we got her from the Blue Cross. I wanted to call her Beryl.

And for asking for a name without a pic.

Muppet is a good cat name!!
Riggs if he is handsome like Mel Gibson!!
The Rock if he looks fit!!

Dave is a fab cat name. I have had cats named 'proper' names, named for Norse gods, and currently on Irish names.

Enjoy your new kitten.

YesItsMeIDontCare · 22/05/2017 14:13

Meatballs is a great name! So is Muppet - and kinda useful when you want to scream "You fucking muppet!" at them for knocking everything off the side again.

guffaux · 22/05/2017 14:13
