There are a lot of Muslim majority countries out there. Turkey, Indonesia, Malaysia. All big economies and all with populations who might not react well to recent events

I think Apple has spoken against his immigration order as well. They employ a lot of people from abroad so this is a major problem for them.

BigBadgers · 29/01/2017 15:36

Here's a thing about apple's response

Yes, he's fulfilling his promises. But many people who voted for him argued that it was only campaign exaggeration.

Funnily not it was Hillary who was accused of being in cahoots with countries like Saudi Arabia, big finance, being "hawkish", and so on. Trump was simply a nice bloke intent on making deals and making friends around the world. That would destroy ISIS in a week.

BigBadgers · 29/01/2017 15:37

Oh yes, we should take him seriously not literally Hmm

Lweji · 29/01/2017 15:38

Trump did criticise Apple for outsourcing too, despite owning stocks and benefiting from their lower costs.

I suppose we'll have to boycott only things with the name Trump on them.

Where are all the threads from Trump fans?

There were loads of fans before the election

GingerIvy · 29/01/2017 15:40

Not all Americans are pleased with Trump's agenda. He is dismantling a lot of what we hold dear. Many are simply too blinded by fear or blood lust for the al queda to realise it.

YouWillNotSeeMe · 29/01/2017 15:40

I like his we're gonig to tax all Mexican imports 20% to pay for the wall. Won't that just put up the prices for americas and Americans will be paying for the wall and having to pay more money for things for themselves? Mexico isn't gonig to suddenly sell everything for less to include the tax so Americans pay the same price.

The Press Association has just filed this:

Prime minister Theresa May has ordered foreign secretary Boris Johnson and home secretary Amber Rudd to telephone their American counterparts to make representations about the US travel ban, Downing Street has said.

BigBadgers · 29/01/2017 15:45

"Boris Johnson will speak to two of Trump’s most senior advisers Steve Bannon and Jared Kushner and make it clear the UK wants an exemption from this travel ban for its citizens."

How do you think that's going to work out...?

No, they won't, because producing the same in the US would probably cost about 20% more anyway, so they won't have price competition.
It will be the US consumers who'll pay for the wall, regardless.

Or... they'll lose out to China, India, etc.

Trump chief of staff says immigration ban 'doesn't include Green Card holders' ind.pn/2kgLAO3

Okay, they've backpedalled on this, to make it look like they're cooperating. I don't buy it. They deliberately bypassed Homeland Security guidelines initially. They knew what they were doing.

Mexico actually might be financially without much leverage, but from a political and law enforcement standpoint, they can create a lot of problems for the US.

An important point from @nayyeroar. The key people who would’ve vetted Trump’s EO were fired from @StateDept.

Anyone Traveling to Banned Countries Will Be ‘Subjected to Further Screening’

To?

Does he mean "from"?
Will people leaving the US for "banned countries" be scrutinised as well?

I like "banned countries". It's a great concept.
