POTUS is tweeting as President Trump. It reads like himself is tweeting, even though he hates it.
Lovely clip of him wobbling with Melania at the Inauguration Ball.

For some strange reason any time I read something he wrote, the word Fucker comes to mind.

Roussette · 21/01/2017 15:56

Ahhh but one of his first moves was a new missile defence plan, he's signed that... just in case those pesky furriners should question him.

Anyway, we should be happy... there's no climate change apparently! That Department's scrapped, we have been so silly thinking climate change was actually happening haven't we, thank the Lord for Trump, he's put us right!

Apparently Trump will be reinforcing the Navy to fight ISIS. You know how strong their navy is.

GrouchyKiwi · 21/01/2017 16:05

I'm only here to mark my place on this beautiful, elegant thread. This is the best thread. This thread will make Mumsnet great again. This thread first.

HainaultViaNewburyPark · 21/01/2017 16:05

24 hours in and he hasn't started a war yet. So far so good.

I think we're only 23 hours in. Although I'm hoping he will get through the next hour without starting one. He's probably got the army out painting big signs saying 'America is Great' - so no spare capacity for anything else.

Lweji · 21/01/2017 16:07

We will also develop a state-of-the-art missile defense system to protect against missile-based attacks from states like Iran and North Korea.

He'll probably call it Star Wars too.

A suggestion: a space station shaped like a ball, capable of shooting a strong laser. With any luck, Darth Pence will get rid of him. And Luke Sanders will blow it up. And Princess Oprah will take over.

bialystockandbloom · 21/01/2017 16:08

Yes roussette climate change is FAKE. Made up by the failing NY Times and that overrated actress Meryl Streep.

SanFranBear · 21/01/2017 16:09

24 hours in and he hasn't started a war yet

Isn't that because VP Mike 'scary as scary can be' Pence has said Trump's not starting until Monday.. Could be an interesting start to the week though, it's not every week we see nuclear armaggedon before lunch Sad

bialystockandbloom · 21/01/2017 16:09

Lol at this thread first Grin

amispartacus · 21/01/2017 16:11

Checks in. Awesome people. The best. Making Mumsnet better again.

DS watched the inaugaration yesterday. I felt it was important to watch history being made.

I'm just a bit surprised how he's going to pay for his promises. The US budget deficit is impressive. But he's going to spend more. And lower taxes. And increase wages. And build more.

If he was at PMQs, I bet the other leader would be having a field day with that.

SenecaFalls · 21/01/2017 16:18

He's planning to cut funding elsewhere to help pay for whatever it is he wants to pay for. One of the targeted cuts is the Violence Against Women Act grant program which provides funding to domestic violence and sexual assault agencies.

UncontrolledImmigrant · 21/01/2017 16:19

I bloody love you nest of vipers

Bambamrubblesmum · 21/01/2017 16:20

And Princess Oprah will take over

Help me Oba-ma you're my only hope

amispartacus · 21/01/2017 16:34

The Star Wars analogy is interesting.

In Rogue One, the Empire is everywhere. Jyn is asked:

"How do you feel seeing the Imperial flag everywhere?"

"Sometimes it's easier not to look up".

I wonder how many people will be 'resisting' any ideology they feel uncomfortable with?

Lweji · 21/01/2017 16:39

For some reason some Trump fans boycotted Rogue One because it was supposed to have an anti-Trump message.

Also, Star Wars was Reagan's intended missile defense system, in case someone is not aware. He's already "borrowed" the Make America Great again. And he seems to be copying at least some policies too.

Roussette · 21/01/2017 16:41

Wow, they're saying there's over a million marching in Washington. And it's 30 countries, they're even marching in Myanmar.

Michael Moore is currently giving a very very powerful speech to the Rally in Washington Immobilising everyone to fight what is not right. He is calling it 'rapid response teams' and said that it was the people who reinstated the Ethics Committee by jamming the switchboard. He wants the people to fight against the Betsy DeVos being Education Sec given her appalling views and lack of experience.

He wants to reform the Democrat party and I have to say he is echoing every single thing we've said on MN (unless you are claig or one of her supporters of course).

He's talking about women's rights, abortion, domestic violence, support for women, gay rights and the applause for him is far far louder than yesterday at the inauguration. He's calling it all a "To Do" list and encouraging everyone to take part, stand up and be counted etc.

I've never really taken to the man before but this is so powerful and so right, he is inspiring. I am very impressed.

Michael Moore for 2020? Grin

Go, The People. Against the just established Establishment.

alsmutko · 21/01/2017 16:52

Missile Defense? Bloody time machine taken me back to 1998? Or has Drumpf got hold of a copy of Ronald Reagan's greatest hits?
Sad!

SaskiaRembrandtWasFramed · 21/01/2017 16:56

Trump doesn't need a climate change department - he's going to fix the climate with his magnificence, and it will be great, really great! He's also going to give the Americans sunny summers and snow Christmases, and cute bunnies at Easter, he really is that awesome! The rest of us are going to get perpetual fog, that's all we deserve for being furrin! Pistachios!

OhYouBadBadKitten · 21/01/2017 16:56

I'm watching the marches on cnn. Now there is actually a beautiful thing. To see so many people peacefully coming together for something so important to them is wonderful. Not Trump wonderful, but really wonderful.

OddJobsHat · 21/01/2017 16:56

Michael Moore for president! Now he delivers beautiful speeches Smile

Bambamrubblesmum · 21/01/2017 16:57

Michael Moore made some interesting connections to the rise of national socialism. It is a worrying turn of the tide.

TSSDNCOP · 21/01/2017 17:04

Trump has the climate nailed man. Just paint your entire family a healthy orange and jobs a good'un. Who needs the sun? The sun is fake! Chi-nah stole the sun. Sun-stealing bastards.

Formerpigwrestler9 · 21/01/2017 17:05

One of the targeted cuts is the Violence Against Women Act grant program which provides funding to domestic violence and sexual assault agencies
quelle surprise

MsHooliesCardigan · 21/01/2017 17:06

The only positive thing I can think that Trump's election has done is uniting the world against him. I'm pretty sure that there isn't a single country outside the USA that had a majority that supports him. All the marches around the world give me hope. I feel so sorry for Americans that didn't vote for him. I still keep pinching myself in the hope that I'll wake up.
