To have had a little snigger, even though it's really not funny

Friend of a friend type situation. He told his long-term live in girlfriend it was over 5 weeks ago. She didn't take it well and they haven't yet sorted out who's going to move out etc (I've no idea of any details of their relationship or if she's entitled to feel wronged etc)

Anyway, he's been excited to have qualified for the World Championships in a fairly obscure sport and arrived at the airport for his flight this morning. At check-in, he discovered the photo page from his passport is missing!

It's not funny. It's terrible. But I will admit my first reaction was a little snigger at the genius!

What's made you laugh when it really shouldn't have?

She is an evil genius.

Soubriquet · 12/10/2016 19:15

That's clever I'll give her that.

WatcherOfTheNight · 12/10/2016 19:16

Sounds like a woman scorned !!

SaucyJack · 12/10/2016 19:17

That's really shit. I'm embarrassed for her.

ExcuseMyEyebrows · 12/10/2016 19:20

That's awful.

I wish I'd thought of it...

Oh my goodness that's next-level genius. I think it depends on the level of pissed-off-ness as to her unreasonable-ness. If he cheated she is for sure in the right. If he decided it just wasn't working she's a little batshit. But I like that in a person.

Iliveinalighthousewiththeghost · 12/10/2016 19:24

Hell have no fury and all that.

RabbitSaysWoof · 12/10/2016 19:24

YADNBU. That's good.

AmeliaJack · 12/10/2016 19:25

Hmmm. I wonder if that would constitute criminal damage to his property?

PotOfYoghurt · 12/10/2016 19:27

I can't imagine going on a trip and not flicking my passport open to check it's mine. Even when I live alone I still do it by habit.

MardyGrave · 12/10/2016 19:28

Ouch, he must have treated her very poorly.

Or she's gone full cuckoo cray-cray.

Queenbean · 12/10/2016 19:29

I actually hope he did something bad to her because if not, that's utterly pathetic and horrible of her

ChuckBiscuits · 12/10/2016 19:30

She didn't take it well

No, she didn't did she. Nice one though.

potentialqualms · 12/10/2016 19:31

I think, actually, Amelia that it might be a crime against the state that issued it. I think the government retains ownership, we don't actually own our passports. Not sure anyone would be interested in prosecuting though.

TaliDiNozzo · 12/10/2016 19:32

Ooh that is rather brilliant if she was badly wronged by him. If not, she's a shit.

Still excellent revenge though.

BeautyGoesToBenidorm · 12/10/2016 19:33

Christ alive. I'm wavering between a weird sort of admiration and complete horror. I bet she was lurking around the airport somewhere too, hoping to catch a glimpse of his face as he checked his passport!

Nooneyouwilleverknow · 12/10/2016 19:35

I saw a friend of friend put on fb that her new DPs ex cancelled there hotel abroad turned up to find it was cancelled ouch! Apparently she posted a screenshot of the hotel they were staying at on her open fb page.

You could fill an entire thread on you and your son Jizz Grin

DoItTooJulia · 12/10/2016 19:36

Oh wow-that's naughty.

But I'm kind of impressed. and a bit ashamed of myself

Somerville · 12/10/2016 19:37

Horrified admiration was my immediate response, too, Beauty. I thought I thoroughly disagree with revenge, but I definitely had a split-second of amusement. Blush

gettingitwrongputtingitright · 12/10/2016 19:37

Brilliant if and only if he deserved it.

Trills · 12/10/2016 19:37

That is incredibly shit of her.

Breaking up with someone is not a crime.

I'd snigger too though. :)
