Bad Moms- why cast Mila Kunis?

Just seen the advert for this new film, and the poster showing Mila Kunis as the lead role.

I know she's a great actress but why cast a 33 year old to be the mother of based on the preview are children who are at least 11 or 12?

All the other 'Bad Moms' are actresses in their late 30s early 40s?

I was looking forward to this film, had only read reviews of what it was going to be about but this will annoy me!

She could be a parent to a 20 year old to be fair

ThymeLord · 19/08/2016 08:37

Eh? I had an 11 year old at 33. I'm confused what the issue is.

LewisAndClark · 19/08/2016 08:39

I also had an 11yo at 33.

ThoraGruntwhistle · 19/08/2016 08:40

Some people do have children in their teens and twenties you know. If the lead actor was 19 with a 12 year old child you might have a point, but 33 is perfectly reasonable.

Sparkletastic · 19/08/2016 08:40

Have you seen it? She's really rather good in the lead role.

Waltermittythesequel · 19/08/2016 08:40

I have a 10 year old at 33.

pointlessperson · 19/08/2016 08:40

She was a young mom had her first at. 20

Rainbowrhythms · 19/08/2016 08:40

Wtf? Plenty of women have kids that young Hmm

moonmeat · 19/08/2016 08:40

When my ds is 11 ill be 33 Hmm

Katz · 19/08/2016 08:41

It's not that realistic?

20 is still young to have children - I was 24 and that was considered young.

Plus I'm guessing at the ages of the children the actors are 13 and 15 (I think- was what Google said)

To make money? Hmm

Rainbowrhythms · 19/08/2016 08:42

I still don't get your problem?

Movies aren't realistic anyway.

But this is realistic.

HermioneJeanGranger · 19/08/2016 08:42

That's fairly realistic. Why on earth wouldn't it be? Confused

Ratley · 19/08/2016 08:42

I'm 33 and have a 10 year old, my mum was 33 when I was 10.
Perfectly acceptable age, just because the average age of mothers has risen doesn't mean everyone is that age. There will always be people above and below average, that is how averages work.

Vixxfacee · 19/08/2016 08:42

How is that unrealistic?

Katz · 19/08/2016 08:43

Ok I'm happy to be corrected

Itis6oclocksomewhere · 19/08/2016 08:43

I'm 35 and I have a 13 year old.

MadHattersWineParty · 19/08/2016 08:43

Why isn't it realistic? Just because it's still quite young doesn't mean it doesn't happen!

PaperdollCartoon · 19/08/2016 08:43

Well,
A) perfectly reasonable that she could have an 11/12/13 year old at 33.
B) just because she's 33 doesn't mean the character it meant to be. Maybe the character is 36? Actors often play characters not their exact real age you know.

PeggyMitchell123 · 19/08/2016 08:44

My son will be 13 when I will be 33. People have children young all the time so it not like it is that unrealistic.

That and everyone can relate to mother's whatever their age, they still do the same thing so does it really make a difference how old she is meant to be.

Ratley · 19/08/2016 08:44

1: Of course its realistic there are plenty of young mothers, I began trying for my first at 22 (having been married 4 years).
2: Even if its not realistic - its a film.

Birdsgottafly · 19/08/2016 08:44

I had three children, at 33, one that was older than the age range of the children in the film. This is your own personal issue.

Do you have really closed thinking, in which you think that's there's only one way to live and a Woman should be just finishing Uni and starting a Career at 22?

Katz · 19/08/2016 08:46

As I said I'm considered to be a young mum of a teen, I'm the youngest by more than a few years. I guess when you don't know anyone who had their children even younger than you, it becomes less realistic for you. Most of my friends my age have children 6-8 years younger.

I shall go watch and be less annoyed.

I'll have a 12 year old when I'm 33 so not that weird.

I ca kind of see where you are coming from, if the rest of the cast is older you'd maybe expect the lead to fit in more.
