Bad Moms- why cast Mila Kunis?

Just seen the advert for this new film, and the poster showing Mila Kunis as the lead role.

I know she's a great actress but why cast a 33 year old to be the mother of based on the preview are children who are at least 11 or 12?

All the other 'Bad Moms' are actresses in their late 30s early 40s?

I was looking forward to this film, had only read reviews of what it was going to be about but this will annoy me!

OP posts:

I can't recall Cameron Diaz, Jennifer Aniston or Sandra Bullock entering the 'mom' casting list at this stage.

But they weren't mothers at that age, were they?

So maybe 'mum' scripts didn't interest them?

Careforadrink · 21/08/2016 14:44

Just

Where on earth do you get that statement from?

I've never said anything at all of the sort! You're not serious surely?

Unless you have me mixed up with someone else than your comment is bizarre.

almondpudding · 21/08/2016 14:47

Another recent film with good representation of a young mother is Love, Rosie. It also has a mostly British cast.

Just5minswithDacre · 21/08/2016 14:47

What statement Care?

Careforadrink · 21/08/2016 14:50

Almond

No I was relating it to my experience initially if you read back.

There are no mums in there 20s in my ds reception class. There were also none in my antenatal for dd.

Therefore uncommon is probably too generous lol.

Careforadrink · 21/08/2016 14:52

This one.

So you want all younger mothers expunged from media So you want all younger mothers expunged from media representation as a result? How odd

Careforadrink · 21/08/2016 14:53

Sorry I didn't copy that well

But regardless I didn't say that. I like Mila Kunis.

almondpudding · 21/08/2016 14:53

I was referring to your statistical bit.

You haven't had statistical or social science training have you Care? Grin

You'd need a much larger sample size than that to conclude anything meaningful.

Careforadrink · 21/08/2016 14:58

Almond

Fair enough. I used the word to describe my situation and got drawn in.

Well, Care, either you object to this unusual portrayal of a younger MC mother in a group of 5 older MC mothers or you don't.

Careforadrink · 21/08/2016 15:12

Just

It's simply an adjective that accurately describes my personal experience of the situation.

And I merely gave an opinion based on the OP post. I haven't made false statements about other posters as you have or taken the piss like you did.

Your recent comments don't reflect well on your character.

Just5minswithDacre · 21/08/2016 15:20

Don't be ridiculous.

Careforadrink · 21/08/2016 15:23

Well don't lie or be bitchy Smile

Just5minswithDacre · 21/08/2016 15:26

Bitchy?? I haven't been.

Are you sure you meant to wander into AIBU?

Careforadrink · 21/08/2016 15:34

Yes you were. With your statistical training comment.

On the back of misquoting me in the first place.

If it was pointed out to me that I had misquoted someone then I would apologise as I'd consider it the decent thing.

Well I've only been here a few weeks or so but I've no issues so far.

Just5minswithDacre · 21/08/2016 15:39

I wasn't attributing a quote to you, you dolt Grin

It was a rhetorical device taking your argument through to its logical conclusion Confused

Just5minswithDacre · 21/08/2016 15:40

Well I've only been here a few weeks or so but I've no issues so far.

Yes it shows Hmm

When we quite other posters, we put it in bold or italics. Like this ^

Just5minswithDacre · 21/08/2016 15:42

Quote^

clare2307 · 21/08/2016 15:43

When I am 33 my daughter will be 10, so not that unrealistic really.

Careforadrink · 21/08/2016 15:51

Just

As you copied and pasted me I think it's how your post read. It certainly implied I said as much when I said nothing of the sort. I think the majority of people reading your post would assume the same.

bibbitybobbityyhat · 21/08/2016 15:51

Erm, no we don't collectively do anything in particular when quoting other posters. I certainly don't do that maddening bolding thing.

Am now taking bets on how many more posters are going to contribute a "when I'm 33 my child/ren will be x years old" post. Reckon it could go on for another 20 or 30 before the thread is finally put out of its misery.

Just5minswithDacre · 21/08/2016 16:02

Care you your brand of 'logic' are actually quite scary. I think I might hide from you now GrinGrinGrin

sailawaywithme · 21/08/2016 16:05

CheerfulYank I couldn't agree more. I'm in the Midwest, too. But apparently pointing this out made me a "judgmental prick" apparently.Hmm

Careforadrink · 21/08/2016 16:13

Just

And back with the insults.....simply because I took issue with you attempting to misrepresent me?

Bitchiness isn't an attractive quality so I'll just leave you to it. Enjoy the rest of your day.
