Those krafty bastards! The taste has changed!!! You knew it MN. My partner is so not interested in this shocking development that I had to come and talk about it here. I knew my childhood memories had not been created.

So AIBU or have they really ruined it?

And don't get me started on the apple crunch....

We've had a tube of Freddo faces (or whatever they're called) in the fridge since Christmas.

Noone's been desperate enough to eat them yet- and 4/5ths of the household will happily eat their own bogies.

namechangeformypost · 16/03/2016 21:33

Grin I love freddo faces, and creme eggs, and mini eggs. Honestly haven't noticed the difference

HoggleHoggle · 16/03/2016 21:34

blatherskite I've bought a few packets of mini eggs over the last week because I can't figure out how it's possible that they actually don't really taste of anything. Very disappointing indeed

Twinkie1 · 16/03/2016 21:37

I've gone over to the dark side as can't stomach bloody Cadburys anymore. A couple of squares of 70% is loads more satisfying.

See I reckon all those people voting for Trump are crazy due to lack of decent chocolate!!

Busybusybust · 16/03/2016 21:39

Yup. It tastes just like (horrible) Hershey bars now!

dodobookends · 16/03/2016 21:48

We had definite proof in this house this week that Cadburys have lost the plot and their chocolate is horrible now. While doing a spot of spring cleaning DH discovered hidden in his wardrobe a Cadburys selection box bought for Christmas 2014 and forgotten about. Use by date end Jan 16.

We''ll risk it, we thought.

Even out-of-date the chocolate was lovely, proper Cadburys. Really brought it home to us how much it has changed.

Shirkingfromhome · 16/03/2016 21:57

I bought a creme egg last year, took a bite and threw the rest in the bin. Anyone who knows me knows I would never throw chocolate in the bin. It's awful. Krafty buggers.

lorelei9 · 16/03/2016 21:58

I can't eat mini eggs, they're like crack to me so I didn't know they'd changed

So buttons have changed too? I was going to get some for visiting relatives
Does any other company do nice chocolate buttons?
They love Cdbury ones but they won't even know about the takeover I expect

MetalMidget · 16/03/2016 22:00

I thought it was just me being pregnant and my taste changing - I fancied some chocolate, had a Dairy Milk, and thought 'Ugh, this is too sweet and and the texture's off'.

Elliecherry · 16/03/2016 22:00

I think I bought my last cadburys Easter eggs this year, I love chocolate but it's just not the same anymore :(

Lanark2 · 16/03/2016 22:03

Yay! Go dispatches!!

GinBunny · 16/03/2016 22:05

MNetters you have kept me on the straight and narrow on my SW journey - your posts about creme and mini eggs last Easter meant I didn't fall off the wagon once.
I too would really like to know if their profits have been affected though?

LarrytheCucumber · 16/03/2016 22:06

Perhaps Kraft are in league with Jamie Oliver and this is their answer to the obesity crisis Wink

Kbear · 16/03/2016 22:10

We had the "what sort of Easter Egg do you want" convo in the car today..... me and DH.... knowing full well I'll have to buy my own..... but we settled on "anything but Cadburys"... the last packet of Giant Buttons were yuck, tasted too sweet, too chemically DH said, I just thought they were cloyingly disgusting and I've been known to hide chocolate so I don't have to share it, but I couldn't give em away.

SaucyJack · 16/03/2016 22:13

They've lost £6m on Creme eggs alone.

Sallyingforth · 16/03/2016 22:14

Is this programme going to be about the disgusting palm-oil chocolate they sell now, or only about their greedy tax-dodging? I hope it will be about both.

Sheezus · 16/03/2016 22:14

I'm an aldi shopper so any fix the children get is Aldi chocolate usually. they got presents of Cadbury Easter eggs today and had tucked in before I realised. I said ok, have half and wrap up the rest.
None of them even managed half an egg?!

We still have selection boxes left over too. They don't even like it.

Tuiles · 16/03/2016 22:21

I think Cadburys had actually put my poor DS off all chocolate Sad He actually asked me to write a note to the Easter bunny to ask for Lego instead.

DD on the other hand is bravely soldiering on (and thus gets double rations).

We had a Dairy Milk box for Xmas and I ended up throwing most of it! Thank heavens for Lindt.

EleanorofProvence · 16/03/2016 22:24

I had a bit of DP's Cadbury's Caramel the other day & it was utterly minging - horrible sweet, waxy, tasteless chocolate and awful overpowering 'caramel' with a nasty aftertaste. DP also just gave me a bag of Mini Eggs and they were very disappointing - far too sweet and not nearly 'chocolatey' enough. I'll be watching with interest.

thatsn0tmyname · 16/03/2016 22:26

Cream eggs are now yuk! Taste like they have dust in.

CantWaitForWarmWeather · 16/03/2016 22:33

Cadburys Caramel is horrible now. It has a really weird taste. Definitely not the same as it used to be!
And I can't believe anyone would enjoy those Cadburys "Puddles". Took one bite and threw it in the bin!

I still love Dairy Milk and Wispas.

Fauchelevent · 16/03/2016 22:33

Noooo! I gave up chocolate ten years ago, haven't touched it since but I was always a cadbury's girl and really wanted to try chocolate again! Devastating! Maybe it's been so long I won't notice the difference?

Sallyingforth · 16/03/2016 22:33

I'm an aldi shopper so any fix the children get is Aldi chocolate usually.
Aldi chocolate is great! Especially the Moser Roth bars in various cocoa content. I had two one this evening. And no evil palm oil in them.

Yoksha · 16/03/2016 22:39

I bought a pkt of the cremeeggbiscuits yesterday from Iceland. On offer6+2 for £1. Got home. Had 2 withcoffee. On eating the second I felt nauseous. 10mins later I heaved the enttire contents of my tummy. My teeth felt like tombstonez. Yuck! Never again.

Yoksha · 16/03/2016 22:41

See all the type o's. That's trauma that is Grin
