To think Miranda won't be funny in 10 years time?

I used to love Miranda. DD loved Miranda. I even took her plus a friend to see Miranda and had to wait a year after booking the bleeding tickets.

But I've just caught an episode (the one where she pretends to go on holiday) and it's just got a bit..... tired and dated. AIBU? I've got nothing against the girl. I think she was just a bit of a fad .

I don't think it's funny now.

dilbert19912 · 21/01/2016 23:19

I never found her particularly funny anyway.
Same with mrs browns boys.

grumpysquash2 · 21/01/2016 23:20

I don't find her that funny until now tbh. But in general I think it is hard for comedians to maintain popularity.

pimplucius · 21/01/2016 23:20

And now AB FAB is on and it's still epic. I was going to go to bed but I'm going to stay up for another half hour laughing my head off.

Well it's almost 10 years old already, 2008 I first heard the joke shop which was word for word almost the same as the Tv series.

My son is 11 and I bought the box set resently and hm he finds it hysterical, I think you are just bored of it.

A been there done that.

missingmumxox · 21/01/2016 23:24

YANBU. But you are ten years out.

IWannaBeAPopstar · 21/01/2016 23:27

She's a bit cringey but that's her shtick isn't it. I enjoyed her as a midwife.

Ludoole · 21/01/2016 23:31

Well i still laugh at Miranda Smilebut then i laugh at Mrs Browns Boys too. I love Brendan O Carrol Grin
Each to their own i guess.
My db loves Dads Army Hmm. I dont crack a smile...

Pipestheghost · 21/01/2016 23:33

I've never found her funny either.

BlueJug · 21/01/2016 23:36

Never thought it funny but it had a bit of charm and my DS used to like it. There was a familiarity with the characters - I liked Gary and Tilly - and the mother that was nice. Some of the scenes - the post office/parcel scene, the Christmas jumpers and conversation at the parents' party, the psychiatrist one - had some social observation that was good - but it didn't make me laugh. Always found her irritating though.

V dated now though.

MysteriousSummer · 21/01/2016 23:38

I didn't ever find Miranda funny

BackforGood · 21/01/2016 23:41

I never found the series funny. However, I ended up watching her in concert in a recording that was on over Christmas, and I have to say I thought she was very good in that which I never expected

I watched quite a bit of comedy gold over Christmas, and it's strange how some programmes (Only Fools and Horses, Porridge) are as fresh and as funny now as they ever were, and others just aren't (I started watching Men Behaving Badly which I used to find funny, but turned over after not many minutes at all).

applecatchers36 · 21/01/2016 23:43

Another one who has never found her funny

Scarletforya · 21/01/2016 23:47
