Nastiest celebs...

Very trivial discussion (so I know I am being unreasonable already Grin ), but I am reading a thread about nasty celebs from 2008 (google brought me there) and really enjoying the gossip... AIBU to ask who the nicest and vilest celebs are who you have met in real life?

I served david Beckham several times when I used to work in Selfridge's, and he was always lovely!

Satsumafairy · 19/04/2015 18:14

I met Annie Lennox, she was lovely. Stephen Fry was also really nice.

ShouldIworryornothelp · 19/04/2015 18:14

I can't imagine Michael Ball is anything other than lovely

HarpyFishwifeTwat · 19/04/2015 18:14

Daniel Radcliffe is a complete sweetheart.

squoosh · 19/04/2015 18:18

Dustin Hoffman laughed at my joke so he's my favourite.

EmeraldThief · 19/04/2015 18:18

Despite his reputation I've heard that Sir Alex Fergusson is nice.

My mum once stayed in the same hotel as Jessie Wallce who plays Kat in Eastenders and the staff said she was a right bitch.

Satsumafairy · 19/04/2015 18:19

I took Dd to meet Alesha Dixon about 6 years ago, she was absolutely gorgeous.

OvertiredandConfused · 19/04/2015 18:19

Jonathan Ross is lovely. Paul O'Grady let me / a charity down very badly at very short notice.

I adore Bill Nighy and Tony Hadley too.

In my experience, they are mainly just like anyone else, only with more patience. But the expection proves the rule and is usually off the scale!

NoisyOyster · 19/04/2015 18:21

Lionel Ritchie is adorable and made me a cup of tea because I looked tired even though I was meant to be looking after him Smile

Paul McCartney is the biggest w*nker ever and the only celeb I ever worked with who I wanted to punch. Hard. Twice Angry

Beckhams (both) are polite and kind

Elton John is a stuck up pretentious wankbadger

fairgame · 19/04/2015 18:21

My Dad used to work with Guy Martin before he was famous and said he is lovely.
I don't know any celebs Sad

squoosh · 19/04/2015 18:21

Lionel sounds lovely!

LaChatte · 19/04/2015 18:22

I met Tim Roth and his partner in a queue for a night club in Cannes a few years ago, they were absolutely lovely. I said I was pretty sure he didn't need to queue up and could go through the VIP door, he seemed quite surprised that I thought he could get in and I ended up going up to the bouncer myself and asking him to call them over Grin . I ran into them a few more times after and each time he said thank you.

Today 18:14 HarpyFishwifeTwat

Daniel Radcliffe is a complete sweetheart.

I knew it! He always comes across that way, imo. So does Emma Watson.

One who often crops up on "Nastiest Celeb threads"is Cilla Black. Apparently she's vile. I've never met her so she could be lovely for all I know. Doubt it.

OrlandoWoolf · 19/04/2015 18:24

Richard Hammond was in my class at school. But I don't remember him as he left in 5th form. He seems nice though.

Never met Katie Hopkins but would love to see the normal her to see if it is an act.

londonrach · 19/04/2015 18:24

Living in london i meet and saw a few. Most are lovely. Used to bump into colin fifth all the time and what a lovely down to earth man. However the one so called celebs to me was michael palin. He was horrible to dh and myself at a book signing. (I had tears in corner of eyes but didnt want to show it) To such a point dh who used to collect his books gave his books away (to oxfam) after seeing him. I think that was the last book signing we went to. However he is the only that has horrible. Dh tried to make excuses for him but no need to be rude. Maybe its the python humour and being dyslexic i didnt understand but dh wasnt and he actually told him that was no way to treat another human being. When i think of sebethan faulks who went out of his way to be nice to us (was locked out and sebethan got told that at end of talk) and salman rushdie (he was very sweet which surprised me and down to earth)

Runningupthathill82 · 19/04/2015 18:24

Greg Wallace is a complete knob.

Rebecca Adlington is absolutely lovely.

NoisyOyster · 19/04/2015 18:25

Oooh yes. Michael McIntyre was ever so friendly and jovial. Just like his bouncing personality on stage

Jk Rowling was sadly a bit of a 'mare and stroppy. Hoping she was just having a bad day as hate it when celebs I think are great don't match expectations

Jenson Button once said I looked "cute" so he's forever in my favourites list Grin

OrlandoWoolf · 19/04/2015 18:27

Seen Steve Backshall do a talk. He was hot very friendly and seemed to reflect his TV personality.

Satsumafairy · 19/04/2015 18:27

Blimey, what did he say londonrach?

YANAgurl1973 · 19/04/2015 18:28

Boy George at a book signing. Loved him but he was just horrible. It was around the time he imrisioned an escort. Not been a fan since.

InQuiteAPickle · 19/04/2015 18:28

Has anyone ever met Janet Street-Porter in RL? I'd love to know what she's like. I imagine that she's quite scary! Grin

hidingfromthem · 19/04/2015 18:28
  • Had the misfortune to have to deal with Germaine Greer. she was a cow. she likes to pull rank. so much for female solidarity.
  • Served mark lamarr and phil jupitus. quite loud but ok otherwise.
  • served whatshisname, the lead singer of manic street preachers. he was polite and discreet. did not want to be recognised.
flamingoland · 19/04/2015 18:28

sorry when I started the thread I didn't add my own experiences (I haven't spoken at length to any but met a few who seemed nice enough).

Jarvis Cocker knows my aunty and sent me a signed and messaged DVD of his film when I was in hospital last year with a broken neck and many other probs. I have heard he is lovely so many times.

I am a teacher and did letter writing with a very low-ability group once. One of the students chose Alex Ferguson and he wrote the most gorgeous and thoughtful hand-written letter back. The student sprinted up the stairs to show me and it moved me to tears to be honest.

Really enjoying reading everyone elses- and wankbadger is my new fave word Grin Grin

I think, like all people, it can depend on the mood you catch them in. John Hurt was absolutely lovely to me but told someone I knew to fuck off.

squoosh · 19/04/2015 18:29

Ah that was nice of Alex Ferguson. Maybe he's not always as grumpy as he seems.
