Very trivial discussion (so I know I am being unreasonable already Grin ), but I am reading a thread about nasty celebs from 2008 (google brought me there) and really enjoying the gossip... AIBU to ask who the nicest and vilest celebs are who you have met in real life?

OP posts:
MrsTerryPratchett · 19/04/2015 18:30

Jarvis Cocker was v polite when I met him. Lovely chap.

Also Keith Flint from the Prodigy.

LaChatte · 19/04/2015 18:30

Bono on the other hand was an obnoxious narcissistic twunt. Seriously, he couldn't seem to grasp at not everybody worshiped the ground he walks on.

InQuiteAPickle · 19/04/2015 18:31

I've read on here a couple of times that Sir Alex Ferguson is lovely.

Satsumafairy · 19/04/2015 18:33

I used to know Keith Flint when he was young, he was lovely.

Tryingtokeepalidonit · 19/04/2015 18:33

I was behind Dawn French in a bookstore once and she was unbelievably nasty. I was gutted, I thought she would be like the Vicar of Dibley.

Longdistance · 19/04/2015 18:34

I second Lionel Richie, he's just lovely.

Amy Winehouse was too :(

Chris Tarrant and Jermey Clarkson are a pair of knobs. Actually, Rab C Nesbitt was too. I was really surprised at him tbh.

Mypubesarestraight · 19/04/2015 18:34

My uncle has a limo business and he's driven many celebrities. He said the worst was Chad Kroeger. Rude and up his own arse.

ThunderbumsMum · 19/04/2015 18:35

My friend used to work with Janet Street Porter and said she was a self obsessed money grabbing cunt. He pretty much likes everyone so she must have been awful.

I met Germaine Greer a few times and she was kind but difficult.

Golferman · 19/04/2015 18:35

When I was a senior medical officer and managing medical arrangements at big pop festivals I met loads of celebs. Nicest wee Kylie and Robbie Williams

NoisyOyster · 19/04/2015 18:35

Nooooo don't tell me that tryingto, I love dawn french! Sad

ephemeralfairy · 19/04/2015 18:36

Mary Portas was rude to my mum on a train once.

Alisvolatpropiis · 19/04/2015 18:36

Daisy Lowe and Rhys Ifans are both very, very attractive in real life (granted I was more surprised about the latter being so than the former) and very polite and friendly.

Never met spoken to a horrid celeb but Ruth Jones is either the misery she is reported to be or suffers from quite a serious case of miserable resting face. I considered speaking to her once but based on the look on her face decided against it. She doesn't have a great rep amongst those who have worked on her shows.

PlummyBrummy · 19/04/2015 18:36

Jeremy Guscott is a sexist tw*t - quite unpleasant to deal with though his friends usually managed to be polite (at a pub I used to work at in London). He said my hands (carrying three pints glasses) were too large and would make his cock look small. Well, i didn't like to say...

DrankSangriaInThePark · 19/04/2015 18:36

Who'd have thunk it about Bono Grin .
George Best was lovely, very shy and almost embarassed. Audrey from Coronation St used to breeze into the shop where I worked and was always very 'hello, look at me, I'm a very famous star'
Someone told me Emilia Fox is awful.
I am a bit gutted about Michael Palin. He always seems like everyone's Dad.Sad

ephemeralfairy · 19/04/2015 18:37

But I met Danny Dyer once when I was working at V-festival and he gave me a Mars bar and a kiss on the cheek ;-)

Longdistance · 19/04/2015 18:37

Another one springs to mind, Fergie was delightful, but her aide was an arse of unequal proportions.

I may be back with more...

Runningupthathill82 · 19/04/2015 18:38

Yep, Jarvis Cocker is lovely! And Bono is a twunt.
Can't say too much as I might out myself, but I have a good story about how he kicked off one night in a bar in Dublin, insisting he was "too famous" to leave by the main exit.

MeggyMooAndTinkerToo · 19/04/2015 18:38

Bruce Springsteen is a lovely and down to earth person. We've met him twice.

Nick Nairn is a standoffish prat.

Robbie Coltrane is a gem.

stircrazyinthecountry · 19/04/2015 18:38

My sister in law runs a company that provides a service that means she has contact with 'the stars' on a daily basis. Among her favourites are Tom Cruise who is the nicest, genuine person and Matt Damon. On the opposite side is Katherine Tate and Graham Norton who are both absolute arseholes.

squoosh · 19/04/2015 18:38

Ugh Jeremy Guscott sounds like a cockwomble!

MagelanicClouds · 19/04/2015 18:40

I used to work for a well known craft shop and I met Paul Daniels. He was buying photo mounts. He was lovely and we had a long conversation about mount board.
I also served Dawn French and she was in a bit of a bad mood - but didn't take it out on me, just clearly wanted to get out of the shop as fast as possible.

Runningupthathill82 · 19/04/2015 18:41

Oh, yes, that reminds me Thunderbums - JSP was REALLY rude to me. We were at a work thing together and I was disappointed as I thought she'd be quite fun.

Koalafications · 19/04/2015 18:42

Mark Lamar is not a nice person.

vienna1981 · 19/04/2015 18:42

I am fairly sure we have had a similar thread on this subject recently. I have met the following famous and not-so-famous folk:

Jools Holland
Paul McCartney
Roger Daltrey
The Eagles
Patrick Moore
and...John Major

No problems with any of these people. I admit I am disappointed and surprised to hear bad vibes about Michael Palin.

Sallystyle · 19/04/2015 18:43

Lesley from Birds of a Feather was a sarcastic cow. Haven't met anyone else famous.
