AIBU to think that DH is wrong about eggy bread?

He likes it savoury, with beans and maybe a bit of bacon.

Now OK I will allow that bacon goes with everything but I like mine like the americans have it, with a sprinkle of cinnamon, maple syrup and a dash of cream.

Also I am cooking it so it comes how I serve it!

I am right and he is wrong, right? Grin

savoury here. Sorry!

ghostyslovesheep · 01/03/2015 20:22

yabu

It's savoury - best with cheese in the middle

GotToBeInItToWinIt · 01/03/2015 20:22

Cinnamon and syrup here. Which is odd really as in my head it should be a savoury dish. But definitely best doused in syrup!

TheOriginalWinkly · 01/03/2015 20:22

Your DH is wrongy mcwrong from wrongsville!

PUGaLUGS · 01/03/2015 20:22

He is wrong. Eggy bread is and should be sweet.

GymBum · 01/03/2015 20:23

YABVVVVVU... I think you DH should file for divorce! Shock Wink

Elisheva · 01/03/2015 20:23

YABU eggy bread served with bacon and fried tomatoes, yum Smile

Janethegirl · 01/03/2015 20:23

Once it's cooked it's up to the individual what crap they want in it surely??

cardibach · 01/03/2015 20:23

Always had it savoury. On the other hand, bacon and egg with maple syrup is delicious, so could you compromise somehow?

duckbilled · 01/03/2015 20:23

Cheese in the middle to be dipped into ketchup.....then a slice with maple syrup!

WhoKnowsWhereTheTimeGoes · 01/03/2015 20:24

Savoury. Always. I would hate it the way you have it.

Titsalinabumsquash · 01/03/2015 20:24

It's a dish that can be served for both sweet and savoury occasions (although it's best with ketchup)

catwithflowers · 01/03/2015 20:24

Bacon and tomato ketchup in the cat house Grin

Fairylea · 01/03/2015 20:24

We just have it on its own, with salt and pepper and ketchup!

Janethegirl · 01/03/2015 20:24

I tend to serve it as part of a fry up unless told otherwise Grin

bazingasheldon · 01/03/2015 20:24

Savoury with ham and cheese in the middle.

FirstWeTakeManhattan · 01/03/2015 20:25

Maple syrup yes, cream blergh. Mostly your DH is right here, whilst you, with your creamy eggs, ABU.

Bacon and maple syrup would be your egg-based love child here.

SDTGisAnEvilWolefGenius · 01/03/2015 20:25

Erm - what is wrong with savoury eggy bread for the first course, and cinnamon/syrup eggy bread for pudding? Everyone wins!

WhoKnowsWhereTheTimeGoes · 01/03/2015 20:26

Bacon and maple syrup is a total no here too.

18yearstooold · 01/03/2015 20:26

With bacon and beans is the correct way

Did he used to be a scout by any chance?

Andcake · 01/03/2015 20:27

Savoury here too although when in America like them sweet. But never heard of them sweet in the uk.

TheHoundsBitch · 01/03/2015 20:29

Bacon and maple syrup. Or honey, cinnamon and soaked raisins. IT's my favourite food in the world, cheese, ketchup or beans with it sounds disgusting though!

TheRealAmandaClarke · 01/03/2015 20:29

I was so shocked when I realised that eggy brad (french toast) could be sweet rather than savoury.
But i do like it.
It can be sweet, or served with bacon, kethcup, maybe brown sauce.
Never beans.
Beans should not be any where near bread.

My DD loves eggy bread, she was asking me about French Toast yesterday.
"I think it's eggy bread but you dust it with vanilla sugar" I said,

DD was Shock and Envy

Methe · 01/03/2015 20:29

Bacon and Beans!
