To feel upset, emotional and frustrated?

8 days overdue with DC1 can't stop crying, just been reminded of my Grandad who passed away 2 years ago and really need a hug. DH not home from work yet and have the worst period type pains which can't be contractions because they don't come and go.

Just because they don't come and go, doesn't mean it isn't contractions. Some people experience them differently.

Labour usually starts with achy period pains.

I can't time them though as they just sort of fade in and out or stay there constantly

My labour pains never came and went. A constant pain that just got worse and worse and...worse! haha. Keep your bag at the door. xx

Pains are very likely intermittent contractions - your baby is on the way - whoop whoop!! Grin

Yep, sounds like DC1 is coming. Call your DH, and don't be too hard on yourself!

Thank you for the hug....you just made me cry again!!!!!

It would be lovely if DC1 were on the way! Might have some paracetamol and a bath.

My "contractions" were a hideous, constant pain in my lower back / thighs. I had no sensation of them coming or going until I got into the birthing pool and started to relax - I was 5cm dilated by then. Sounds like you could be gearing up for go time - good luck OP Thanks

What time is DH due home? Can you call him to leave earlier if he isn't already en route?

Period pains does sound like baby is on the way Grin

I had constant pains with dc1. Also labour can start with period pain. Good luck!

DH was due back in 5 mins but is running late which made me cry all over again. he's on his way though.
is it normal to be freezing cold too?!

The pains may change. Best to get to it with dh that should sort it!
