8 days overdue with DC1 can't stop crying, just been reminded of my Grandad who passed away 2 years ago and really need a hug. DH not home from work yet and have the worst period type pains which can't be contractions because they don't come and go.
cry...sniffle...cry

Bath or tens first?

A warm bath got me going with DD (baby 3) after weird niggly stuff all day so I would try that and, if nothing doing, stick the tens on and try for a bit of shut eye.

Good luck Grin

Oh op I remember that feeling from 15 years ago! The period pains, the crying. Pre labour is what you're in! If I were you (or if I could go back in time and tell myself) I would choose a box set to watch and settle myself down. You can guarantee you'll go into labour at a really exciting it of it ;) good luck Smile

McKayz · 06/02/2015 00:49

I'd try another bath and see how it goes. Good luck

Iflyaway · 06/02/2015 00:53

Still full moon which makes you more emotional tell me about it!

MrsCK · 06/02/2015 01:21

Bath is doing wonders at the moment :)

Not sure if it's the same for normal labour, my waters broke and I didn't give birth until over 36 hrs later after being induced. Was supposed to be low risk with birth pool but due to risk of infection due to waters breaking I couldn't have the birth I wanted. But while I was in labour and the painful induction drugs were kicking in I asked if I could at least have a bath because I couldn't have my water birth, and the midwives warned against it, as unless you're in full blown labour, you can keep slowing the process down and prolonging it...

That's just what they told me, may not be true though! As I always thought baths and tens and pain killers were recommended for early labour..

Being a man I can't be much help with this sort of thing, but good luck! You're going to have such an adventure over the next few days that you'll always remember. Flowers

Good luck op, how lovely xx

RevoltingPeasant · 06/02/2015 06:15

Oooh OP :)

I kept having period-pains-but-worse. I knew they couldn't be contractions as I couldn't feel them in my back.

Then all of a sudden the whole thing was overwhelming and I needed to be in hospital RIGHT NOW. DH phoned the home birth MW who set out.

She arrived 35min later, just in time to DD!

The overwhelming feeling had been transition and the period pains had been active labour!

DD is two weeks old today and feeding sleepily as I type :)

RevoltingPeasant · 06/02/2015 06:15

In time to catch DD!

MrsCK · 06/02/2015 06:38

Thank you. pains definitely starting to make a pattern now so I think this could be it!

Yes! Hope this is it Smile

MrsCK · 06/02/2015 07:25

Still a bit randomly spaced out though...7 mins between them then 2 then 5 then 7 again and the pain is manageable at the moment :)

I was an emotional wreck the night I went in to labour. I was convinced my dog was going to die Confused. DS was born the next day. And three years later the dog is still alive!

Good morning. How exciting. YY to drinking and eating. I hope its a nice easy journey to saying hello to your new baby Smile

FoxInABox · 06/02/2015 07:56

My contractions for all three of mine didn't go in to a pattern at all, even when I was pushing. Just go by the pain, although they may well eventually settle into a pattern. Good luck Flowers

FourAndDone · 06/02/2015 11:50
