like really, this section can be so negative and bitchy! nearly everyone who posts in AIBU gets unnecessaryagro about something theyv posted which to anyone else could seem completely normal!? some people need to get there attitude checked and realise that for example if you say the word 'gay' in a post, you don't need to rip them apart calling them homophobic by people desperately looking for a problem..just saying, chill out we are supposed to support eachother as women not make sly digs and remarks over social networking!

As women?? Quite a few men on here you know...

Are you new to MN op?

WestmorlandSausage · 09/08/2014 21:23

if you used the word gay in any negative sense then you are right to be picked up on it.

Supporting each other as women (and actually this site is one used by men and women) has nothing to do with allowing other women to say racist, sexist, homophobic or disabilist things unchallenged.

Erm AIBU is a little hairy at times and MNHQ are trying to make it a nicer fluffier place Smile

If you have something specific to post about then try finding the topic that fits as you tend to get better responses.

Saying that though discriminatory language is never welcomed or accepted on MN so it is worth checking that you are not using slang/derogatory terms before you hit post.

EhricLovesTheBhrothers · 09/08/2014 21:45

Did you get pulled up for using 'gay' as an insult? If so, YABU.

ICanSeeTheShardFromHere · 09/08/2014 21:51

Anyone who uses 'gay' in a pejorative sense I B massively U.

ouryve · 09/08/2014 21:53

If you use gay with any derogatory intention then it's right that you should be picked up on it.

If you don't like AIBU, then hide it. Don't post here. Go elsewhere. There's a whole load of other mumsnet and even more Internet, besides.

Hello 15 yr old hacking your ma's account.

Using 'gay' in the way you've just described makes you a twat. HTH.

zazA09Jane · 09/08/2014 21:55

im not talking about actual racist or homophobic comments im talking about those who twist things you say! For example 'my gay friend went to the park' and a handful of negative people try turn it around! no im not new to mums net and i think it's wrong when people throw digs for no reason (which some mumsnetters do)
im not asking you to agree on something you dont like, but some people need to spare the unnecessary name calling and digs! I had a post a while back and got accused of lying about an illness my son had!?

checks attitude

Nope - not racist, sexist, homophobic etc Grin

DiaDuit · 09/08/2014 22:01

is this about your comments about Justin fletcher being 'too into crossdressing' (your words) and you not liking that people asked you what you meant by that?

FlossyMoo · 09/08/2014 22:02

I haven't seen the thread you are talking about so cannot comment on it but maybe stay away from AIBU.

Sorry your son was ill.

SauvignonBlanche · 09/08/2014 22:02

YABU.

Viviennemary · 09/08/2014 22:05

AIBU is full of horrible people.

Oh yes it is

Oh no it's not

The jury is still out. Grin

Pico2 · 09/08/2014 22:05

You do always get the "why did you feel the need to point out that they were gay/old/black/Korean?" posts. Sometimes they have a point, sometimes they don't.

OnIlkleyMoorBahTwat · 09/08/2014 22:06

If you're talking about your friend going to the park, why is his/her sexuality relevant or worthy of mention?

deakymom · 09/08/2014 22:06

have you had your spelling checked? mine was put in paragraphs and punctuated correctly which was nice Hmm but unfuckinghelpful my worst was the inbox of abuse i wrote something wrong admitted i had it the wrong way round asked for the thread to be deleted so i could correct it and got a torrent of TROOOOLLLLLL no TIRED!!!!!!
