Oh please help me I'm mortified!! I've just had a play date from HELL and to I went to text my best friend (who would find it hilarious) all about it, outlined everything horrible that he did but I sent it to the little boys mother. I feel like crying.

Is there anyway out of this, I used him name and I ended with "never to return again" Blush

That's karma.

SauvignonBlanche · 15/07/2014 17:16

Oh dear! Grin

PourquoiTuGachesTaVie · 15/07/2014 17:17

Marking place to see if the mother replies! Grin

rootypig · 15/07/2014 17:17

Oh fuck. That is bad.

There's nothing to be done but to send an immediate follow up text apologising unreservedly and to acknowledge that your DC can also be little monsters.

And to tell us what your text said in full Grin

RevoltingPeasant · 15/07/2014 17:18

On the plus side, you probably won't ever have to have him over again?

Fanfeckintastic · 15/07/2014 17:18

Why is it karma?? (not that I believe in it!)

Bowlersarm · 15/07/2014 17:18

Poor you.

I don't think saying sorry will do much good but you could try.

DesperatelySeekingSedatives · 15/07/2014 17:18

Oops! still on the positive side at least you'll avoid any suggestions that playdate should be repeated. ever again.

RevoltingPeasant · 15/07/2014 17:19

Oh yes and what DID you say? Was it sweary? Did it use any choice epithets for her little monster darling? Grin

rootypig · 15/07/2014 17:20

Yes yes text in full please please

Marcipex · 15/07/2014 17:20

:D I think you'll have to apologise.

Jackie0 · 15/07/2014 17:21

Oh Fan Sad that's like something I would do.
Don't let your embarrassment ( which will fade faster than you think) cause you to overreact or over apologise.
If there isn't really a friendship between you and the mum just say nothing.
If you are friends just say " sorry , I didn't intend to hut your feelings but it was a bit of a nightmare ".
You didn't do anything terrible , despite how you feel right now. If anyone should be embarrassed it's probably the other mum anyway.
Don't torture yourself. It was an innocent mistake.
You'll be laughing about it in a week, promise.

Fixitagaintomorrow · 15/07/2014 17:21

Oh dear, don't think there's any way out of that!

KenAdams · 15/07/2014 17:21

Yeah, marking place on this one Grin

Electriclaundryland · 15/07/2014 17:21

Lilaclily · 15/07/2014 17:22

WhereTheWildlingsAre · 15/07/2014 17:22

BBQsAreSooooOverrated · 15/07/2014 17:22

Oh dear gosh I guess that the end of future play dates. Just hope she doesent remember next term

Rabbitcar · 15/07/2014 17:23

Just come clean and send an apology, say you had a bad day etc and therefore phrased it the way you did. Yes she will be cross, but it will be partly forgotten over time. You won't be best mates, but you probably don't want to be. Please don't worry, in the end things aren't as bad as they might initially seem. I feel for you though, but send the text and then forget about it. x

SanityClause · 15/07/2014 17:23

It's karma because you were bitching about someone behind their back.

That's not a very pleasant thing to do, and you've been caught out.

I would apologise, if I were you. Profusely, and with flowers.

SiennaBlake · 15/07/2014 17:23

Oops! And that's why you should only bitch in person Grin

Fanfeckintastic · 15/07/2014 17:24

I feel sick to my stomach. It was sweary, just because that's how me and my friend talk (in private, about these kind of things) but it probably makes me sound absolutely vile.

That is awful! Karma indeed Grin

Any come back yet from the boys mum?
