Subway - Halal issue

CiderLover · 30/04/2014 16:04

I feel a bit annoyed that 200 Subway stores are removing their Ham and Bacon due to requests from their Muslim customers.

I think the process of producing Halal meat is cruel, but obviously that isn't an issue to Subway.

There are plenty of Subway stores that advertise their pork as being Halal so why this? It's not earth shattering stuff but ...

Should I move to a muslim country and want to open a strip club would that be allowed?

gordy you have been confused all the way through so no change there Smile

TheDoctrineOfSnatch · 30/04/2014 20:04

gordyslovesheep · 30/04/2014 20:04

could you give me any examples of my confusion Can't or are you just slinging insults around now rather than actually answering any points :)

cantbelievethisishppening · 30/04/2014 20:07

gordy slinging insults around? Priceless. Get over yourself love. Wink

softlysoftly · 30/04/2014 20:08

Joysmum so you are veggie? Only non halal "normal" meat is also hung to bleed out.

gordyslovesheep · 30/04/2014 20:09

Once you start doing that you have effectively lost the argument ...but you where loosing it anyway so it's no loss love :)

SunshineBossaNova · 30/04/2014 20:10

It's a franchise so I suppose the people who have your local Subway must be Muslim. That would not go down well here though. A sandwich isn't a sandwich without ham or bacon IMO. They would probably lose my business. Grin

gordyslovesheep · 30/04/2014 20:24

they are lovely aren't they :) Grin along with terms like 'love' and a total inability to continue the actual discussion

cantbelievethisishppening · 30/04/2014 20:28

gordy never mind. One day you might be able to master that skill Wink

Well if this thread has done anything, it's made me want a subway.

Spicy Italian, Italian Herb and Cheese Bread, with jalepenos and onion. NOM

This beans on toast isn't going to cut it :( skint life.

cantbelievethisishppening · 30/04/2014 20:38

gordy ok. Let's just call a truce. I think you have the intellect of a tomato and you think I am a thick bint who clearly has no concept of debate or argument. It's been fun Wink

candycoatedwaterdrops · 30/04/2014 20:41

My university have a subway and the other day, I had a lovely flatbread with tuna, melted cheese and olives. It was great!

spatchcock · 30/04/2014 20:42

How very dare the Muslims want a bit of religiously-sanctioned meat in their sarnies. Who do they think they are, coming to our country and eating meat the way they like to eat it. It'll be Sharia Law soon and we'll all be wearing burkas, mark my words.

TequilaMockingbirdy · 30/04/2014 20:44

spatchcock I think they're fully entitled to have what meat they can eat, or feel they can eat. I think it's when it takes something away from someone else.. that's the issue.

TequilaMockingbirdy · 30/04/2014 20:45

Ooo that sounds good candy

HalalHam · 30/04/2014 21:05

I've realised...when I get turkey and ham, usually it's turkey ham so have I just essentially been ordering a double turkey sub?! Tastes good anyway Grin

borisgudanov · 30/04/2014 21:26

We'll if the one in our west-of-Scotland town goes halal it'll be because they can't fly high enough to catch the pigs. It'd go out of business before lunchtime was over. Same goes for the one in the Dumbarton Road.

nennypops · 30/04/2014 21:33

Strangely, you rarely find halal meat haters especially EDL and UKIP types boycotting Indian restaurants.
