Where shall I start..... I am sick to death of everyone taking the piss out of 50 Shades books, okay so it's not the best written book in the world but the amount of people who start threads about how they think it's shit is really getting on my nerves. Lets be honest the only reason you people start threads like that is because you know everyone will jump on the bandwagon like a fucking sheep and that makes you feel powerful.

Read it or don't read it...but for the love of sweet baby cheeses why keep going on about it?

Is it not enough that people keep reading and then slagging off the Daily Fail without reading and complaining about this too?

I read all three on holiday. Just bit of a laff IMO. Especially if you read them aloud with your DH in different accents, for something to do in the evenings.

I've no problem with people moaning about it. It's one of the biggest selling books of all time so it's inevitable people are going to have an opinion on it, it's plastered all over the media. It's inevitable when something is prominent in pop culture. See also, Harry Potter, Spice Girls, Avatar, whatever's popular at the time. Why does it bother you?

Why go onto a thread you know will annoy you then? Its pretty clear by the titles which threads are objecting to the book.

It's not abuse though, she knows she can tell him to stop if she needs to, did you even think she actually likes it.....just something to ponder. Just hate the way everyone thinks its porn for women, it does have a story behind it. I just needed to get that of my chest, it was very therapeutic.

It pisses me off. The whole thing pisses me off. I'm most surely not bandwagon jumping, almost everyone I know IRL who has read it has got off on the badly written BDSM lite enjoyed it.

I think it just makes people a bit sad inside that this series is so fetishised, when better-written, less dysfunctional book-based porn is widely available.

I've heard of the book but have no idea what it's about. I can't wean myself off Agatha Christie's long enough to find out...

I got to the start of chapter three. I knew when she 'scrambled' out of the lift and 'valiantly' tried to calm herself down (after nothing more than meeting someone for the first time) that it was shit and not worth reading.

I have no problem with you choosing to read it, I have no problem with you telling people you enjoyed it. But it is without doubt the most badly-written two-and-a-bit chapters I have read. And if I want to say that, I will.
