Whatever you may think of her, this is hardly in good taste is it? It just makes the unions look bad to have this sort of thing on sale at their conference. Can you imagine the CBI having T-shirts looking forward to the deaths of Tony Benn, or Shirley Williams, on sale at their conference?

Well I think she was an excellent PM. I think it makes the unions and the left look very bad to have people celebrating the death of someone. I remember John Smith dying and the grief coming from the Tories was very genuine and moving. Labour and the TUC need to distance themselves from the people wearing these garments as much as possible, it just makes them look infantile and bitter.

The t-shirts are in very poor taste, but what can you expect from a bunch of brainless idiots who nearly killed off the British economy because they were so busy with their blinkered political point-scoring.

I celebrated fit to bust when she was deposed and then when the remains of her gvt were voted out - but hate her as I did, she was elected by our democracy, and she is a human being and these T Shirts undermine the dignity of her opponents.

I think Tories can argue very eloquently about the Left destroying the economy (although what Gordon was supposed to do about a global downturn, I still don't know). However, if you were in certain places or certain groups during the Thatcher years, you would believe she destroyed society. Scotland, the North, coal-mining and industrial towns. They were left as wastelands with people who had, for generations done the hardest and most dangerous jobs left with nothing. There was nothing to retrain for, no jobs and no future for their kids.

As I said, I don't wish anyone dead but I also know why some might.

Actually, I remember reading an article at the time of John Smith's death, that there were a lot of jokes in bad taste from the Tory Backbenchers.

I'd object to the T-shirts if they were looking forward to a Labour PM or MP. Even Blair or Brown.
