To think that these T-shirts are disgusting?

Whatever you may think of her, this is hardly in good taste is it? It just makes the unions look bad to have this sort of thing on sale at their conference. Can you imagine the CBI having T-shirts looking forward to the deaths of Tony Benn, or Shirley Williams, on sale at their conference?

I will be amongst millions celebrating whren the planet is rid of this evil bitch. I think most people who lived in the North in the 80s would feel the same. And its not just her policies at home, just look at the whole falklands situation and also her support of pinochet a man responsible for the tortue of 30000 of his own people incl women and children. I could go on all night but suffice to say would be happy to wear that t shirt OP and hardly think you can compare her to shirley williams lol

crackcrackcrak · 16/09/2012 20:03

They don't offend me in the slightest. I gave a friend a cigar from Cuba 'for when thatcher dies' id have one but cigars are rank!

crackcrackcrak · 16/09/2012 20:04

Xici - brilliant post I agree entirely Grin

Dawndonna

That's funny flatpack.
Still it does mean I can continue to ignore your contributions to these threads. They're hardly serious, are they, I mean if you can't provide empirical evidence your argument is somewhat fatally flawed.

limitedperiodonly

Dawndonna says all I wanted to say.

You're not worth taking seriously flatpack

Oh noes! The marxists aren't taking me seriously! Such a tragedy.

merrymouse

So I'll take that as meaning you dont actually know then flatpack. Fair enough.

The problem I have is that if I get the information and present it, you'll either not understand because of the long words and numbers (and you lefties are SO poor with numbers), or you'll claim I made it up, or that the information is lies because of its source, or I'll get a load of sarky BS, and quite frankly I'm not going to put myself out for a bunch of overentitled, up-their-own-bums public-sector Guardianistas who wouldn't know real work if it beat them over the head with a badger.

So - no. I've got better things to do than tussle with morons.

merrymouse · 17/09/2012 20:16

So you really don't know.

Dawndonna · 17/09/2012 21:11

Merrymouse She/He is an obfuscatory twat. Can't help it. It's all the big words, can't comprehend.

Redbindy · 17/09/2012 23:51

flatpacktwat I'm a lefty with a maths degree, not sure where that leaves your rather ridiculous association of numerical ability with political viewpoint. What I do know is that that thatcher-ism was evil and divisive. I won't be dancing on her grave because I will be too busy celebrating down the pub after laughing, singing and dancing at the funeral. I think I might have a cider now in anticipation.

lovebunny · 18/09/2012 01:17

its pathetic.

i still get the occasional pupil spouting off about how 'thatcher' did this or that... these are people who weren't born until 1998...

limitedperiodonly · 18/09/2012 08:06

lovebunny What's pathetic about it? If they are 'spouting off' then direct the debate onto rational lines in the appropriate lessons. That's what teachers do, isn't it?

Even a primary school teacher ought to be able to handle a discussion on social history. Definitely secondary school.

Or is your school the only one I've ever heard of that doesn't do social history in Europe in any way?

ravenAK · 18/09/2012 14:16

'Spouting off'?

Good grief. I'm glad you don't teach any of mine, & I'm glad I don't work with you.

A 14 year old should certainly have knowledge of modern social history.

How odd that you think that's 'pathetic'.

Pendeen · 18/09/2012 16:37

I heard that she wants to be buried at sea so: dance away to your hearts content!

awaynboilyurheid · 18/09/2012 18:21

pendeen, the sea wouldnt have her it would only spit her back, she had no empathy for anyone especially the scots, if people want to dance so be it.

How odd that you think that parroting the Guardian/Socialist Worker byline about Thatcher is 'knowledge'.

MrJudgeyPants · 19/09/2012 11:12

Firstly, I still can't believe that there are so many people on here happy to relish in the death of another human - I'm sorry but I think that is sick.

Secondly, considering the fact that the 'left' is in opposition at the moment with a largely ineffective and unpopular coalition government suicidally hobbling themselves at every opportunity, the next general election seemingly up for grabs, union backed public sector workers being squeezed and/or laid off across the country, unpopular privatisations being forced through in the NHS, mass agitations such as the 'Occupy' movement becoming mainstream, a half-finished 'summer of discontent' and on-going pension reforms, I'm amazed that the biggest story to come out of the TUC conference was about a sodding T-shirt.

Pathetic.

ravenAK · 19/09/2012 20:18

Frankly, flatpackhamster, it's not the issue whether the 14 year old holds Guardianista or Daily Heil opinions, or even well considered ones of their own.

It's someone who claims to have teenage pupils considering it appropriate to refer to them as 'spouting off' & 'pathetic' when they express an opinion.

More shocking to me than some childishly tasteless t-shirts.

I won't be wearing one; it'll be a night for getting out the party frock, I feel.

limitedperiodonly · 19/09/2012 20:33

raven agree.

I might be wearing something in blue moire taffeta as a tribute to the age.

I'll have to go and buy it though. It's what the Blessed Margaret would have wanted.

Sorry to hear you're so easily shocked.

Grown-ups wouldn't feel the need to revel in the death of a person. If this thread has shown one thing, it's the immaturity of a broad swathe of lefties.

ravenAK · 23/09/2012 01:27

Ah well, we can agree to disagree, I'm sure. You can always buy shares in her sendoff if you think it's a more fitting tribute to her memory.

I believe there's a very popular petition to privatise the funeral. It's what she would have wanted.
