To think it's disgusting to wash up without rinsing?

Just that really!
I really can't understand how seemingly clean people lather their dirty dishes and just put them to dry without rinsing the foam off. All the germs and soap residue are left on the plates surely?

Yuk. Revolting!

valiumredhead · 01/08/2012 14:32

Oh who cares, seriously? Grin Who died from not rinsing their plates?

germyrabbit · 01/08/2012 14:33

Yes I def agree. And I am quite a slattern with other stuff but this is something that has always irritated me.

Petsinmyolympicpudenda · 01/08/2012 14:33

I have the dog lick the washing up clean. Saves on water

olimpia · 01/08/2012 14:35

But seriously is it just laziness (not to rinse) or do people actually don't mind tasting the Fairy when they drink from a cup?

I hate this too. At ds1's party last year another mother came into the kitchen to help and started washing dishes and leaving them all covered in foam on the draining board. Yuk! Had to wash them all again when the party was over so wasn't that helpful really!

I hate the thought of food being coated in soap residue... or worse yet a slick of soapy yuk on the surface of a drink [bleugh]

I don't rinse except for cups Confused can't say I've noticed or tasted leftover fairy liquid scum on the plates or have ever gotten sick from the tons of germs left on them. Life is far too fucking short for some chores.

vess · 01/08/2012 14:37

Agree. Yuck!

puds11 · 01/08/2012 14:38

Grin pets

KellyElly · 01/08/2012 14:39

Not really something I've ever given much thought to but no I don't rinse - apart from my DDs cups and bottles. I dry straight away though so does that make it any better?!

CMOTDibbler · 01/08/2012 14:40

I don't rinse. Can't see the point

musicposy · 01/08/2012 14:40

No, I don't rinse except for glasses (because they do look skanky otherwise).

We never get sick. One of my friends is constantly dettoxing her sides, the kitchen stinks of bleach but they are always ill. I think we all have good strong immune systems Grin

WrestlesBadgers · 01/08/2012 14:43

Nuh. We've only got one sink though, rinsing would make the palaver twice as lengthy. Bad enough as it is, holding dp at his post with a cattle prod Grin

MrsMangoBiscuit · 01/08/2012 14:44

We only have one sink, rinsing under the tap would mean sacrificing the bowl of water, so I dunk and make sure I get the bubbles off. If the water is dirty, I run fresh. Do I pass? Grin

cairnterrier · 01/08/2012 14:45

Doesn't it just waste water rinsing?

valiumredhead · 01/08/2012 14:45

Just because people don't all do things the same as you, doesn't make it 'disgusting.'

lisaro · 01/08/2012 14:46

You're not meant to rinse it as it's part of the way it works (I seem to remember) Confused

halcyondays · 01/08/2012 14:47

Yanbu and I am very slovenly, my house is a right state but I always rinse and I'm fussy about dishcloths being clean. Dishwashers have a rinse cycle, they don't leave your dishes all soapy.

olimpia · 01/08/2012 14:48

Sorry, still think it's quite yuk to leave soap scum and probably food residue to dry on a plate

not rinsing is ick! My parents don't and there are often flecks off food on the washing up. OK it is washed in soap but the washed off stuff is floating round in the water and will cling to the washing up if not rinsed. fine if you don't mind picking it off later

I only have one sink but rinse, I don't fill the sink to start with then it is just getting topped up by the rinsing with hot water and I can finish before I overflow so don't need 2 sinks to rinse.
