Let dp phone the midwife for advice. There may be nothing she can do but I think it would be worth speaking to someone.

OneOfMyTurnsComingOn · 23/07/2012 07:52

Yep. Let him phone the midwife. Get lots of rest, and drink plenty if you can.

Indith · 23/07/2012 07:52

There is never, ever any harm in calling MW to check. Something simple and obvious like a cold, flu, tummy bug etc then there isn't any need but with aches and pains then one quick phone call will tell you if you need checking out or just to rest and no MW would call you a time waster for it.

worriedwretch · 23/07/2012 07:53

I've convinced myself I have listeria from a horrific hog roast from Saturday aftertnoon

Always get advice from a midwife, I felt terrible towards the end of my first pregnancy and everyone including me dismissed it, turned out I had pre eclampsia and had a c section at 36 weeks.
Not suggesting this is anything like that but best to get checked. Hope you feel better.

worriedwretch · 23/07/2012 07:59

Feel like im making a fuss though

OP posts:
PurplePidjin · 23/07/2012 08:05

I'm only 21 weeks but recently had a bollocking off my gp for not making enough of a fuss (suspected dvt that turned out to be hidden varicose veins) His main point being that one illness affects two people - mum and baby - and therefore even the most minor ailment is twice as serious.

Get checked. It's a sensible precaution not a waste of time :)

whatinthewhatnow · 23/07/2012 08:12

hello worried, please ring your hospital and speak to a midwife. There could be lots of things going on, or nothing to worry about at all, but it's important to talk through it with someone. I am a mw btw and want to reassure you that you won't be wasting anyone's time. It's just a quick phone call. X

hazchem · 23/07/2012 08:22

As my GP said once they would rather see 10 healthy people then not see one sick person.
Hope you feel better soon being sick and pregnant is horrible.

Convert · 23/07/2012 08:26

Why don't you make your DH ring, then if it's nothing you can be like, well I told him he was making a fuss about nothing Grin

worriedwretch · 23/07/2012 08:28

Dp is hassling me to call dr
He has to leave to go to work
I can't stand up straight let alone look after 18month old and. 5 yr old

OP posts:
kate2boysandabump · 23/07/2012 08:30

You may have a water infection, in which case you need antibiotics. Let your DH phone the MW, she'll be able to give you much better advice then we can. Hope you feel better soon.

greenbananas · 23/07/2012 08:32

Let DP call the midwife. She may tell him to stay off work and look after the children for you. Being ill and pregnant is no fun at all.

storminabuttercup · 23/07/2012 08:32

Could your dp have the day off? Dependent leave definitely applies in this situation. Then call the gp and get checked over.

Take care x

worriedwretch · 23/07/2012 08:33

Who do I phone?
Community MW
Hospital labour ward number on notes
Or gp

OP posts:
worriedwretch · 23/07/2012 08:34

DP has never once taken a day of to care for me when I've been ill and I mean unable to stand nearly passing out through dehydration with d&v
With a toddler and breast
Feeding newborn.

He just won't.
He does this really pained face at me. Then leaves.

OP posts:
storminabuttercup · 23/07/2012 08:37

Do you have anyone else that could help?

Personally I'd phone the GP.

worriedwretch · 23/07/2012 08:40

Phones GP waiting for call back in an hour.

My eyes are throbbing my lower back feels like ive been run over

OP posts:
Alibabaandthe40nappies · 23/07/2012 08:40

He isn't caring for you, he is caring for his children because you are unable to. Massive difference.

worriedwretch · 23/07/2012 08:59

GP has said drink plenty and rest

DP is now about to leave and dd2 is having a melt down. This is going to be a long day.

OP posts:
OneOfMyTurnsComingOn · 23/07/2012 09:02

I still think you should phone MW. Can anyone else help with the kids?

worriedwretch · 23/07/2012 09:04

Will probably try and go to my mums. Feel so sorry for dd 1st day holidays and I'm now glued to the sofa

Any idea what I should say to dp
He is obviously trying to get me to say its fine for him
To leave me

Whatevertheweather · 23/07/2012 09:04

worried please call labour ward. I'm currently in hospital having been admitted last night for persistent vomiting and a temp of 39.4. I'm 34 weeks pregnant. I've been on iv antibiotics and fluids since I was admitted. No way could I look after my 5yr old today. Are you able to keep fluids down?

Alliwantisaroomsomewhere · 23/07/2012 09:05

Sounds like you need to see a doctor. Maybe A&E or even ambulance. Don't leave it.

worriedwretch · 23/07/2012 09:05
