Where I work we inform women to call labour ward initially if we think it's better suited to GP we arrange that but usually most things can be seen in triage.

To be honest with your symptoms initially I was worried about something like viral meningitis. Although from the people I've known have it they can barely talk let alone type!

Keep us updated.

Alibabaandthe40nappies · 23/07/2012 20:59

I'm glad you've had a wee, and I'm sorry if I was harsh but Giraffes is right, it is very frustrating when someone asks for advice and ignores it all but keeps moaning.

I hope you get seen soon.

Wheresmycaffeinedrip · 23/07/2012 21:00

If she's not here soon pleAse go to labour ward get a neighbor or your mum to baby sit. Forget about your dps work tomorrow and get him to drive you to the hospital! Better to go and get sent home than to suffer in silence and have something really wrong with you. Please pleAse put u and your baby first and get seen. Don't allow a treatable infection get so bad it sets off labour and requires major strong meds! Please :(

ATruthUniversallyAcknowledged · 23/07/2012 21:11

You haven't pissed us off, you've just made us want to kick you up the backside [smlile]

Hopefully the midwife is there now, but if she isn't please just go to the labour ward Go now. The kids are asleep and DP / DM / friend can cope alone for a few hours while you and your child get checked out. Good luck.

worriedwretch · 23/07/2012 21:20

She's en route apparently

At this rate I am off to hospital.

My head is throbbing - back ache going though. Think I'm drinking it out !!

ATruthUniversallyAcknowledged · 23/07/2012 21:25

Good (that she's coming, not that your head is throbbing)

If nothing else, she should put your mind at rest and give your DP a bollocking

Wheresmycaffeinedrip · 23/07/2012 21:26

Hope she hurries up x don't Play down the back ache just because its not so bad right now! Tell her everything and make sure she checks your urin and blood pressure x let us know :)

storminabuttercup · 23/07/2012 21:44

Glad she is on her way, give her until ten and then go to hospital. and tell that DP of yours to get a clue.

I was harsh too but it's frustrating, if you do have an infection it needs sorting ASAP.

Keep us posted Smile and look after yourself x

worriedwretch · 23/07/2012 22:57

Urine all clear BP slightly raised than normal but not worryingly

TheVermiciousKnid · 23/07/2012 23:02

I'm glad you go to see the midwife. :) Hopefully you'll feel better tomorrow. I hope your partner got an even sterner telling off!

TheVermiciousKnid · 23/07/2012 23:03

you got to see the midwife.

Wheresmycaffeinedrip · 23/07/2012 23:04

Relieved to hear your ok!!!! Have been worried all day about u and ur baby. Glad she's coming back tomorrow to check on u. In meantime rest and tell dp straight u need him home tomorrow. Work is not gonna fall apart if he's home for one day ! Get some sleep and remember they r his kids to !50% his responsibility it's time he did his share as work does not end with kids when u leave the office. Be firm remember you need to be able to gp to hospital at any point baby could come. His work will have to cope. :)

Wheresmycaffeinedrip · 24/07/2012 08:41

How r u feeling today :)

TheGruffalosbitch · 24/07/2012 08:51

I hope she gave your dp a good bollocking too!

worriedwretch · 24/07/2012 09:26

nose bleeds ahoy, feel better, back ache gone, but just weak and shakey - thank you all for the kick up the arse last night

OP posts:
Wheresmycaffeinedrip · 24/07/2012 09:36

Did u not tell him to stay? Talk to midwife when she comes back to check on u maybe she can talk some sense into him especially if she tells u to go in and get monitored. Have you got help lined up for the kids and transport on stand by?

worriedwretch · 24/07/2012 10:23

haha will have my iphone so shall do,

can I have a quick straw poll, whos DP would take the day off to take care of DC / wife? Because Im desperately trying to think of how to speak to DP about all this

OP posts:
TheVermiciousKnid · 24/07/2012 10:28

I have no doubt my husband would have taken the day off.

I hope it all goes well today! :)

StellaNova · 24/07/2012 10:30

My DH would, absolutely no question about it. Hope all goes well.

NoobytheWaspSlayer · 24/07/2012 10:31

mine absolutely would - and he's self employed so we'd lose a days wages.

Lambzig · 24/07/2012 10:31

On the couple of occasions DH has had to stay at home to look after DD (if I have been ill) he is initially really annoyed when such things come up and initially says that he cant, he has a meeting or is very busy. If I then say that I can't cope and he has to, he is usually very stroppy. I did my heels in and he stays very begrudgingly.

About an hour later he apologises. So his initial reaction is that work comes first and then when he thinks it through he is reasonable.

So to answer your question, yes he would stay to look after DC/wife, but I have to push it.

TheGruffalosbitch · 24/07/2012 10:44

Absolutely. My dp is also the only one in his company that can do the job so he can't get anyone to cover him. When I was pregnant with dc2 I was really ill for 2 weeks so dp took 2 weeks off. Earlier this year I had nori virus dp took a week off work to look after me and the dc's

I am actually really shocked at ur dp's attitude
