To not have sex with my partner

Because yet again I have the most horrific shaving rash! He says he doesn't mind but I do... Now I feel silly Blush

While we're here does anyone else suffer from the BURN and HORRID ingrown hairs? How do you prevent them.. I'm sick to death.

I wish I could just go all european and not do hair removal but it makes me itchy thinking about it.

It would take David Bellamy to hack through mine at the moment. Blush

OhNoMyFanjo · 27/05/2012 17:21

Wax instead of shave? Try a different shaver?

Dropdeadfred · 27/05/2012 17:21

Stop shaving then!!

OhNoMyFanjo · 27/05/2012 17:22

Oh and believe him when he says he doesn't care, he just wants sex and doesn't care what it looks like [gein]

McHappyPants2012 · 27/05/2012 17:22

Don't shave use creams or wax

MistyRocks · 27/05/2012 17:22

exfoliate!

wheniwishuponastar · 27/05/2012 17:23

Use a beard trimmer much better!

Safmellow · 27/05/2012 17:25

Are you careful not to shave against the direction of the hair growth? Hair removal cream might be better.

In the meantime, no YANBU, but I am sure he really means it when he says he doesn't mind

Shodan · 27/05/2012 17:29

Shave.
After shaving, smooth in some moisturiser ( I use Nivea), preferably while skin's still damp.
Next day, exfoliate gently with scratchy spongey thing.
Moisturise.
Repeat daily, if necessary.

catgirl1976 · 27/05/2012 17:31

YANBU not to want to, but is it just because of what it looks like or because of how it will feel?

Try using a shave gel, it softens the hair and makes it less scratchy IMO

scubastevie · 27/05/2012 17:31

Agree moisturiser really helps. Immac has come along way though and is much better for this, and lasts slightly longer.

scubastevie · 27/05/2012 17:32

But YABU to not have sex because of it, unless he is a new partner :o

MistyRocks · 27/05/2012 17:34

oh yeah and i shave with hair conditioner

and as others have said - ALWAYS always shave in the direction of hair growth (ie not against it)

akaemmafrost · 27/05/2012 17:36

Vaseline straight after shaving.

Works for me.

MissCoffeeNWine · 27/05/2012 17:40

Wow that sounds like double punishment - burning rashes and no sex?

What body parts are you shaving and how/why are you shaving them?

hairytale · 27/05/2012 17:41

Hang on. Amy man that minds a fanjo as nature intended is a bit of a twunt, so that shouldn't come into it.

YABU to shave your fanjo if it causes discomfort.

MrsMuddyPuddles · 27/05/2012 17:47

Is it because of what it looks like? If so, can't you just turn the lights out or stick a blindfold on him Wink

Do the shaving at the end of your shower, so the skin is warm from the water, and use a brand new razor for the fanjo and underarms (I only get razor burn when mine is old though any fanjo shaving is saved for when i'm wearing a swimming costume )

MissCoffeeNWine · 27/05/2012 17:51

She didn't say anything about a fanjo. I assumed legs?

Fanjo-shaving is incomprehensible to me.

OutragedAtThePriceOfFreddos · 27/05/2012 17:53

Wax and exfoliate! Shaving rash is entirely avoidable, so avoid it!

Debeezandbirds · 27/05/2012 17:57

I always thought you were meant to shave against the hair, like with your legs. Up motion.

Unscented deodorant can help with ingrowns.

ReindeerBollocks · 27/05/2012 18:04

I do the conditioner and shave in the direction of the hair growth. Has stopped the problem of in growing hairs and shaving rash.

Now the only shaving rash I get is when DH has stubble Blush

scuzy · 27/05/2012 18:09

hang on am confused ... what body part are we shaving? i could NEVER shave me fanjo. buy a bikini trimmer or use cream or wax!

BrikSchittHaus · 27/05/2012 18:10

after years of rashes and diy ingrowing hair operations, I gave up and had laser for the bits of fanjo garden that I didn't want . . . it hurt but was so worth it

OldGreyWiffleTest · 27/05/2012 18:12

A shaved fanjo smacks of trying to be 7 again. Yuk.

osterleymama · 27/05/2012 18:15

Get a no-no (hair removal gadget thing) or use trimmer from boots.
