I only made the point of saying that I'm single etc, so no one would say I have it hair free because of a man.
It's just what I prefer, same as my legs and underarms, which I never show in public either, I need to wear long sleeves and trousers at all times (on steroids, so covered in bruises)

For many people it has nothing to do with sex/porn and everything to do with personal comfort.

A lot of women choose to remove the hair on their legs and armpits and I have never heard anyone liken it to wanting to look like a child, don't really understand why it applies to pubic hair. A woman with no pubic hair looks like a woman with no pubic hair, not a child. I like to wax mine because the regrowth is softer, compared to if I trim regularly it must gets coarser and not a nice feel to the touch imo. Op I would say exfoliate, exfoliate and exfoliate some more - I get these they're cheap and work really well for me.

I dunno about this 'under 30s thing'. My mates and I are under 30 and AFAIK being hairless down there is seen as something that happens on joke TV, not in reality? Like having a deep tan or enormous fake boobs, isn't it? You know that there is this stereotype that women do these things and have a teeny 'landing strip' but it is seen as a bit of a joke, not a reality? Whereas I assume there must be some section of the population for whom it is not just a silly parody and who really do these things?

I disagree with that Worra, otherwise women of all ages would have been doing it constantly as part of their grooming routine for ever, like plucking eyebrowsand shaving legs.

But they haven't. The simple fact is that until about 10-15 years ago it was something most of us tried once or twice as an experience, (usually as part of a sexual experience and nothing to do with routine hygiene) but very few of us kept it up religiously and over the long term.

It may well feel nicer/fresher for some - I don't argue with that, but the simple fact is it is a fashion borne out of the porn industry and the generation of women who consider it an essential part of their grooming routine are, by and large, are the generation who have grown up with internet porn being 'normal' and easily accessible.

I've had my hair in a bun all day as it trailing down my back, the thick mass it is, in this heat annoys the life out of me, makes me warmer as it acts as an insulation as hair does and then I sweat. Unless I can figure out how to tie my pubes in an attractive bun I'll continue to shave as I don't need the insulation nor the protection from insects when peeing which pubic hair used to offer.

I don't get what you are saying? Pubic hair is hygienic. I accept people have all sorts of reasons for removing it ... but my basic belief is, if you cannot maintain health and cleanness with a full bush, you need to see a doctor and/or a nurse who will teach you how to wash.

I am past 50 and it all thins out considerably once you get menopausal so yes it is probably an age thing. i never did anything other than legs and armpits when younger and now feel happier with leaving what i do have well alone. the joys of the menopause it will come to you all (perhaps by the time the under 30's reach it there will be a fashion for stick on wigs by those who currently shave!!)

For me it was just a case of it being the 'done' thing. When did this porn thing rise? Because I'm now 20 and started shaving at the young age of 14 (I was quite hairy, just whipped it all straight off, obviously for my own preference as I wasn't having sexy time then)
