Not to shower every day?

Just looking at threads about drought and how long it takes people to get ready and it got me thinking. I shower every other day (unless of course I've been particularly active or done something requiring need to shower ie gardening). I don't smell (as far as I know- dh says I don't!) all my other friends shower daily. Is this something we need to do daily or is it a society thing? I remember parents saying it was a weakly bath for them etc. with the drought situ I'm just wondering if this is contributing. Would you daily showerers consider reducing? Hmmmmm!

I only shower every second day as well. It cuts down on the water bill.

I shower daily, even if I didn't my hair still needs washing daily so I wouldn't want to have to cut back on the number of showers I have.

I have a bath or shower on average 5 times a week. I really do not smell, although I have been told that I must on here before.

I don't shower every day, I start work at 6.50am when I'm at work( currently on ML) and when I currently have chance to shower I'd rather sleep!

Even after with all these things though, I'd choose to shower every other day anyway.

So in short YANBU

I shower daily but if it came to it, it wouldn't be the worst thing to shower every other day. Like hell I'd still have to wash my hair though, I can't abide dirty or greasy hair!

Hell: My hair would be wrecked if I washed it daily, but I have a v sensitive scalp and luckily it doesn't get greasy so I can manage without! Sometimes I can leave it 3 days, 4 if I don't make a public appearance (hair washing that is, not showering!)

I would LOVE to be able to leave my hair for 3 or 4 days. I'd save so much time.

long soak on a Sunday afternoon, a shower every other day. Unless we have silly-hot weather and I need a cold shower to cool off.

but I also dont slaver my self in products like perfume or creams that do whiff after a day or two if they aren't cleaned off

Glad it's not just me then! I think time is a factor, sometimes I resent the time it takes to shower/blow dry etc (think I am just lazy!)

They're used to seeing me in various hats at the school gate, to hide bad hair days

You don't have to wash your hair every day when you've got a can of Batiste in the bathroom!

A flannel and soap do the necessaries every morning. As far as i know I don't smell

I don't slather in creams either trois, maybe that is a factor. Hmm. I don't wear makeup as a general rule, only when I go for a night out so maybe that also helps.

I think underparts need to be washed every day.

We don't have a shower (though will soon, plumber willing!) I have a bath most days but not every day - probably 5 days out of 7. I will probably shower more often once I finally get one mainly through the sheer novelty of it

I shower every morning and bath every night, more or less without fail. Unless ill. I wash my hair every morning.

I even really push the boat out and wear make up every day! And always a clean bra and knickers every single day.

I change my sheets twice a week.

I love the smell of warn biscuits....

I do shower every day, but not always at the same time of day. Showering and wearing nice shoes is my substitute for having adequate sleep.
