Not to shower every day?

Just looking at threads about drought and how long it takes people to get ready and it got me thinking. I shower every other day (unless of course I've been particularly active or done something requiring need to shower ie gardening). I don't smell (as far as I know- dh says I don't!) all my other friends shower daily. Is this something we need to do daily or is it a society thing? I remember parents saying it was a weakly bath for them etc. with the drought situ I'm just wondering if this is contributing. Would you daily showerers consider reducing? Hmmmmm!

Yanbu. I used to have a shower or bath every other day, but now I've started having one first thing every morning to help me wake up. I prefer baths as I'm always freezing when I get out of the shower.

I wouldnt wear knickers with leggings eiher...and just wash the leggings every day

LeBOF · 28/03/2012 23:57

Shiney, you do realise that we can all see your arse then?

AnyFucker · 28/03/2012 23:59

my pubes would poke through if I didn't wear knickers with leggings

I think that is more antisocial than missing the odd shower Grin

Bogeyface · 28/03/2012 23:59

I wear clean trousers every day but I just shove that days jeans in with the kids uniform wash so it doesnt generate masses of washing. And given that I rarely end the day without some sort of baby produced gunk on them, I would be washing them anyway so adding knickers to that seems a bit wasteful and pointless!

And to correct myself, I do wear them that week.

AnyFucker · 29/03/2012 00:00

I wear a bra to bed, but not knickers

Bogeyface · 29/03/2012 00:00

AF, are you Les Dawson?

AnyFucker · 29/03/2012 00:00

to bed

AnyFucker · 29/03/2012 00:01

did Les Dawson have pubes poking through his leggings ?

JasperJohns · 29/03/2012 00:01

I disagree - I can smell greasy hair - it has a particular pong.

shinecrazydiamond · 29/03/2012 00:02

Yuk re pubes poking through leggings! I dont have that issue but thats a whole other feminist issue Grin

I now wear very THICK leggings bog after an unfortunate incident in waitrose last year. And a longer top..but mainly i am in jeans. with knickers

AnyFucker · 29/03/2012 00:02

JJ, come and lie on top of me any time, my hair doesn't smell and it isn't greasy

I'll even let you stick your tongue in my ear to check if it's waxy too

shinecrazydiamond · 29/03/2012 00:02

boF not bog!

Bogeyface · 29/03/2012 00:03

But thats exactly my point Jasper, my hair isnt greasy because I dont over wash it. I agree that greasy hair that hasnt been washed for days and days does smell, but I dont think there is anyone on here who is like that.

LeBOF · 29/03/2012 00:03

Does anybody get that thing with Lycra stuff that little white wiry bits of elastene or whatever it is poke through if you are lazy and tumble dry everything? Maybe you could get away with pretending it's that, Anyfucker? Although that will make people think your pubes are losing their youthful vigour.

Bogeyface · 29/03/2012 00:03

Tbh I think he probably had pubes poking through his bra :o

AnyFucker · 29/03/2012 00:04

nobody said this was a feminist issue, shine !

leggings are a style and beauty issue

in that, they have no style and you don't look beautiful wearing them

especially when you can see your arse crack though them

Bogeyface · 29/03/2012 00:05

Oh I had that with a pair of leggings and they were really expensive! Never ever happens with my George D'asda or Matalan ones, but it did with the £30 ones!

AnyFucker · 29/03/2012 00:05

LeBOf, I do not wear leggings < sniff >

Bogeyface · 29/03/2012 00:05

No AF, whats worse is seeing the individual bumps and dimples of her cellulite through them and that scar from when she fell of her bike....

AnyFucker · 29/03/2012 00:06

BF, I want to know the connection you made between me and Les Dawson !

garlicbutter · 29/03/2012 00:09

If you NEVER wash your hair - that's it, never - the natural oils start working properly and it goes all glossy, bouncy and doesn't smell. You just brush it every night.

It does get increasingly skanky for about six weeks, then you wake up and it's become perfect!

I do wash mine these days (didn't for several years) but only about once a week. Or less.

JasperJohns · 29/03/2012 00:10

Where are you AF, that offer is just too tempting. I love a bit of ear wax.

garlicbutter · 29/03/2012 00:11

Which did you have, Bogey - arse crack or pubes??

AnyFucker · 29/03/2012 00:11

JJ, Grin
