"Although I know it isn't real, just for the record, we knew 2 people who sadly got pancreatic cancer. 1 died in 6 weeks and the other was only diagnosed about 48 hours before he passed away. It's an awful cancer that they sometimes don't pick up till very late."

True, although my Dad died of cancer and in his last days he couldn't even hold a cup to drink from. She's managed to pencil on her eyebrows, put in her earring and go downstairs to ask for a G&T! Grin

Foxinsocks · 01/01/2012 19:51

Yes very true Robin! Sorry to hear about your dad. My mum has terminal throat cancer and less than 12 months to go and she already can't do some things

Northernlurker · 01/01/2012 19:51

You don't have to be in hospital to have adequate pain relief. It can be delivered at home - in the final stages through a syringe pump. Patients may need not just something to combat pain but also something to calm them down if very confused or agitated and also as the body shuts down you lose your ability to clear fluid and secretions from your mouth and throat so something can be given to dry that up too. It's absolutely possible to have a dignified and comfortable death at home.

mumatron · 01/01/2012 19:52

Biancas dad isn't bad. Is that the original actor?

rhondajean · 01/01/2012 19:53

Which wicks is that? David?

It's the one for casualty anyway.

Sparklingbrook · 01/01/2012 19:54

Has David recovered from his brain tumor in Casualty then?

katkitya · 01/01/2012 19:55

Christ I wish I could remember the backstory now. Which son went on to become a copper up north?

Foxinsocks · 01/01/2012 19:55

He looks too young!

katkitya · 01/01/2012 19:56

He looks like my ex

Sparklingbrook · 01/01/2012 19:56

Simon Wicks. Nick Berry!!

itsbrandybutterandtinseltime · 01/01/2012 19:58

OP posts:
Kellogg · 01/01/2012 19:58

We are behind. Did Derek take something from Pat?

GoingForGoalWeight · 01/01/2012 19:58

Why do people feel the need to tell others soaps are not real?

I've never met anybody who thinks soaps are real..

I only watch as I'm stuck in the house..

GwendolineMaryLacey · 01/01/2012 19:58

< sob>

Don't be mean to her David. It's your last chance!

Sparklingbrook · 01/01/2012 19:59

This is like listening to EE on the radio. Grin Boys are playing PS3 so I am imagining the scene.....

katkitya · 01/01/2012 19:59

I think everyone knew pat was a prozzie

Foxinsocks · 01/01/2012 19:59

It was the earrings brandy. The punters used to go mad for them.

Sparklingbrook · 01/01/2012 20:00

Was she? Shock

busybusybust · 01/01/2012 20:00

Yes, what was that blue thing Derek took?

GwendolineMaryLacey · 01/01/2012 20:01

I think she said once that most of her earrings are sent in by fans. I don't know how I know this... Blush

FlightRisk · 01/01/2012 20:01

The only devastating thing is that poor baby being born to evil Janine!! That girl has a wire loose just like Tracey Barlow Xx
