No one is perfect. No one is saying Val was perfect, but for a lot of people her ban seems unfair. Nowt wrong with one more last chance. With Val when you give her a nod to rein it in I found she did. There are others on here that don't take heed to people saying they are going to far and they are damn rude, and don't get banned "because its a public forum".

I agree but DBF was banned a couple of weeks ago, after warnings, and allowed back on a promise that she'd tone it down. So how many last chances do we give. We have to moderate this "public forum" and that entails dealing with the fall out from those stung by the prevailing aggressiveness in the Doghouse. And it's no fun for my team who do it, let me tell you.

I'd like to know what the pram thing is. Honestly, people are suggesting that there was theft involved. If that's the case then either it should be out in the open so no-one else can get tricked or nt talked about as it isn't proven.

and the lovely rev was told to take rev out of her name because it was seeming like she was the vicar of MN. (something i wildly argued against, catinthehat, as you'll no doubt remember ). HQ definitely has form for knocking people back who set themselves up as kings and queens of particular areas - you might disagree with the individual decisions but you can't say that this is a one-off.

I don't think DBF should have been banned. She rescues dogs. Some people treat dogs like shit. She gets passionate. That sits about right with me.

justine Because as many of us have saud it seems to be one rule for one and another for some. It was lighthearted by the way, I don't think ANYONE has time to go through all the threads and i'm pretty sure i'd end up banning myself with some of the comments I have made!

Love how LES couldn't resist coming on this thread and yet again denying all the things that people have PROVED about her, and posted links to threads where it proves she did in fact say these things.

I agree it is perhaps time to close this thread especially now that LES has turned up as I imagine a bunfight will soon begin.

Hi Anyfucker, one thing we're not going to do is to delete this thread. I guarantee that would result in about 200 others saying WTF happened. And since when do we delete threads that lack utility? Actually I think this thread is one of the most useful I've participated in because there are some very strong feelings and opinions about the nature of Mumsnet and how it should be moderated being discussed here. In a way I think it's been quite cathartic.

yes i agree i think it should be deleted now. i think this thread has served it's purpose and it looks like t's about to be taken over to feed someone else's ego which i'd rather not help with. so i'm off this one.

So how long do bans last. I can think of a few who have airily announced that they have been banned more than once , is Vals permanent?

I didn't think there was a need for a hide poster option but I think I wouldn't be the only one who'd hide TLE. It's the same format to a thread over and over, she asks for advice and help, she is given it but then she doesn't like the tone of the help and so flounces about.
