@AnyFucker

Ok

So if the DogHouse and FWR sections are being compared wrt to their "dogma" inviting unhelpful input along, have you got any individual posters in Fem/Relationships lined up to be the "fall guy" then, someone to be made an example of like DBF appears to have been ?

ERM nope. Don't accept the premise of your question, neither. You seem cross AF?

Prefects would be amazing Grin

Maybe just call them moderators?

LucyStone · 08/11/2011 00:01

I also think dbf's ban should be reconsidered. none of us are perfect, but I've never felt dbf was breaching rules excessively. or is mnhq practising the art of silencing women who speak out of term? may i remind mnhq how long bob and edd were allowed to stand? both posters were much more damaging imo...

Justine

I think AF is asking about parity.

Blush

Been a few instances of 'so-and-so posted a question in the doghouse and got a roasting' - well, it's exactly the well-meaning but ignorant who go out and buy a cute fluffy cockapoo that come undone when they can't cope with it and who are funding the puppy farms and BYBs. Once you've repeated yourself a hundred times on the subject it can be like banging your head against a brick wall. Then the roastings begin.

Still not acceptable IMHO - that poster has only made one "mistake" not hundreds.

CalatalieSisters · 08/11/2011 00:02

lol at "I am a lurcher". If an aggressive orthodoxy is let off the lead, all the lurchers get scared out of the park.

AnyFucker · 08/11/2011 00:02

I am quite cross, yes.

I read that thread, Mildly.

I felt so very lucky that I wasn't in the op's position, and in awe of all the help she received.

JustineMumsnet · 08/11/2011 00:03

@MrsDistinctlyMintyMonetarism

Justine do we get an official hat?

You could have a hat, certainly, or maybe an ebay scarf would be more in keeping...

And it's exactly that sort of attitude that people are objecting to on The Doghouse!

SacreLao · 08/11/2011 00:03

I think the people who are experiancing problems in the feminism section are well justified to be upset by the response TBF.

It did make it sound like they basically deserved it for having such views and people are allowed opposing views.

Surely opposing views should not be allowed when it is illegal / racist / sexist or discrimanatory?

I am quite cross, yes.

Why?

Pan · 08/11/2011 00:03

You would have to go a long way to interpret Justine's comment re 'dogmatic' stuff in Fem section attracting MRAs means posters have brought it on themselves.

If that's not too personal a question...

AitchTwoOh · 08/11/2011 00:04

can't find the thread, stewie... am refusing to watch dispatches if you're referring to that.

and re this, toboldlygo..."Once you've repeated yourself a hundred times on the subject it can be like banging your head against a brick wall. Then the roastings begin." this is the problem.

no one person repeated themselves a hundred times on the subject to one poster. each new person deserves a fair hearing. if an impassioned and knowledgeable poster cannot be civil then they should take a break, not start attacking others because their views do not chime.

Rhinestone · 08/11/2011 00:04

Ok, getting to the limit, will start a new thread.
