Because if she has been I would like to know why.

OP posts:

It's really bad form to link to one thread/one post where DBF was very harsh (haven't we all been at one time or another). I could link you to thousands where she has been helpful. Hundreds on other boards as well as in the Doghouse. She's an asset to MN and literally a lifesaver to hundreds of animals. Then she's banned for calling a liar a liar :(

MmeLindor. · 07/11/2011 22:18

That whelping thread is just a week old, BOF, and if I had seen it then I would have reported it to MNHQ and called DBF on it.

Not everyone know that private breeding can end up with the puppies on the street or needing rehomed.

And the whole backyard breeding sneery tone is only the tip of the iceberg.

The poster on that thread posted in innocence, hoping for a bit of reassurance. It was likely her first and last post in the Doghouse.

Perhaps her first and last post on MN.

AVoidkaTheKillerZombies · 07/11/2011 22:18

A thief?

HeresTheThingBooyhoo · 07/11/2011 22:18

oh sorry, yes you are right. not everyone is. that is true.

PacificDogwood · 07/11/2011 22:18

Ah, SoupDragon, but TikTok is a saint, really, she must be: superhuman powers of restraint and consideration under extreme duress Grin.

DBF comes across as more human...

LeBOF · 07/11/2011 22:19

I am assuming the thief thing relates to the pushchair stuff, but I don't know the details.

I do know though that TLES was begged not to get the dog she did in her circumstances, she went ahead anyway, and then wanted tlc for dumping the poor animal. If she thought tea and sympathy would be forthcoming for that, she was very wrong. I suspect she wanted attention and uproar though, and she got it.

LoopyLoopsRootyFroots · 07/11/2011 22:20

Paid by MN? How does that come about? (Although I think my chances may have been scuppered...!)

MmeLindor. · 07/11/2011 22:20

Chipping
I posted that. And if I had posted in innocence about wanting to let my dogs have puppies and been so flamed from DBF (or anyone else) then I would have been really upset.

This was not a cruel puppy farmer, it was a normal mum whose dog was having puppies.

SuePurblybilt · 07/11/2011 22:20

Not sure how that's relevant or any of your beeswax Catinthehat3?

AitchTwoOh · 07/11/2011 22:20

no, actually i don't accept that someone on a warning should be able to get away with saying what she did with no consequence. it was a personal attack. a fairly mild one, for her, but that's hardly a defence. other people might have said worse but they presumably hadn't been repeatedly warned to moderate their tone.

but we can agree to disagree on that. i'm easy-oasy. it would have been better if it were more clear-cut but the result is that someone who has been aggressive, terrifying, unwelcoming and the subject of many, many complaints is gone (for the moment). good.

I get that, Justine

But I have seen worse in some AIBU threads, you can't ask people to have an opinion and offer help and advice then say "oh but only in the way we want you to". For fear of upsetting people who intentionally set out to cause upset.

OliviaMumsnet · 07/11/2011 22:21

@Crazybit

I have also sent a pm to MNHQ and nothing came of it that I know.

Hi there - when was this and to whom? thanks

reelingintheyears · 07/11/2011 22:22

Catinthehat3 Mon 07-Nov-11 22:17:42

Airch, havent been on in a long time, but are you still being paid by MNHQ?

That's bit rude isn't it?

AtYourCervix · 07/11/2011 22:22

i've just got in from work, been sent on a 20 mile diversion in the rain and dark, got lorst not 5 miles from home.

can someone PM me what the bloody hell is going on please?

JustineMumsnet · 07/11/2011 22:23

@Catinthehat3

I am also loving the personal attacks on DBF by Justine about bossiness and other things when DBF cannot answer back.

Classy

Really classy.

I'll let that personal attack go, Catinthehat3 Smile

The truth is we don't usually like to go about posting why we've banned folks on board for this very reason. The last thing we want to do is slag someone off who doesn't have an opportunity to defend themselves. But, there was no way this was going to left off-board to our discretion, as we've seen DBF has lots of mates on MN, who want to know why we've done what we've done.

Plus the Doghouse has been boiling away for a bit - our inbox is chocca with posters who've had a rough time in there - so we felt that we needed that the issues needed to be addressed on board.

AitchTwoOh · 07/11/2011 22:23

oh you are KIDDING me, catinthehat... Shock i have been here for YEARS and i am no longer allowed to have an opinion that coincides with HQ's without my personal integrity coming under attack? give me a fucking break...

you should have seen my work on the Daily Mail threads... Grin

Pinot · 07/11/2011 22:23

CatintheHat3 - you are an intriguing character!

SacreLao · 07/11/2011 22:23

Surely this thread www.mumsnet.com/Talk/the_doghouse/1328807-Scared-of-our-dog-and-Im-not-too-sure-I-still-want-him PROVES that DBF had indeed calmed down as asked by MNHQ?

One poster mentioned that Valhalla would be along to flame the OP when actually she had already posted under her new name of DBF and given great advice with no judgement.

flatbread · 07/11/2011 22:23

i like DBF aggressive, non-compromising attitude, tbh. I don't get why women have to conciliatory and soft. One day I hope I can have DBF's attitude...

I like Xenia as well.

I guess I admire strong women who can be direct about their beliefs without couching it in politically correct language

SoupDragon · 07/11/2011 22:23

Whilst DBFs knowledge may be an asset to Mumsnet, her attitude is not.

BarryStar · 07/11/2011 22:23

Erm, Mamazon has been banned? I did wonder why I hadn't seen her around recently ...(behind the times and missing the point as usual). Am I allowed to ask why?

Re DBF - have never personally been on the receiving end of her advice, but have seen her give out plenty of it, investing loads of time and knowledge. I will admit to initially finding her tone a bit "I am the only dog lover in the world", but it didn't take long to realise that the tone is inspired by the genuine depth of feeling and passion.

RedwingWinter · 07/11/2011 22:23

This is the thread about rehoming that several of us have referred to. DBF did a brilliant job of finding a dog a new home - a happy outcome to a very difficult situation. I don't understand why people think the doghouse is a problem when this kind of thing happens there.

MmeLindor. · 07/11/2011 22:23

I have to admit to being torn.

I like DBF. I like her passion, her humour. I love her posts outwith the Doghouse.

But I cannot like the nasty, passive aggressive posts like the one on the whelping thread.

And yes, it is only one thread but it is not the only one that she has posted in this manner.

She has been warned several times to tone it down. Why did she post on that whelping thread? What did she hope to achieve? The dog is already pregnant.
