Because if she has been I would like to know why.

OP posts:
ItsonlymeMrsDB · 07/11/2011 21:43

Justine

But isn't that open to personal interpretation ?

One person's helpful and considerate is anothers bossy ? Depending on what is said, and how ?

MmeLindor. · 07/11/2011 21:43

Gosh, Picturelibrary. That post is shocking.

May yet revise my opinion. I thought that DBF had mellowed.

This is exactly why I posted on the thread that Wannabe started a while back.

A poster asks an innocent question and gets absolutely flamed for it.

Before reading the Doghouse threads, I had NO IDEA about the issues with private breeders. Our dog came from a private breeder.

catgirl1976 · 07/11/2011 21:44

Thanks Justine for considering it. I am sure we could all do to check our behaviour every now and again. Perhaps this is one of those times.

LeBOF · 07/11/2011 21:44

To be fair, Justine, TLES needed shooting a bit of a lecture on that thread, and DBF was more gentle than many others.

ColdSancerre · 07/11/2011 21:44

No goss MrsDB. I want to know about the pramscam.

ChippingInNeedsSleep · 07/11/2011 21:45

chickchickchicken - I said that earlier but my post was completely ignored.

Yourefired · 07/11/2011 21:45

DBF was really helpful to me recently. Hope all this can be sorted out.

ItsonlymeMrsDB · 07/11/2011 21:46

Oh poo, Cold

Got all excited then. I never get any gossip.

Mind you, probably best !

HeresTheThingBooyhoo · 07/11/2011 21:46

BTW VAL/DBF has asked to let you know that she cannot access her PMs. she is getting truckloads of email notifications but cant get to the PMs so if you want to contact her use the FB page. it's Vallhalla MN.

picturelibrary · 07/11/2011 21:47

I'm glad you agree MmeLindor.

It's been bugging me since I read it that I didn't say anything about it to DBF - I thought her attitude was awful.

I felt very sorry for the op.

pictish · 07/11/2011 21:47

"She is only aggressive (for want of a better word, as I don't really feel that she is - I get the distinct feeling she's actually tempering herself much of the time and would like to let rip with much worse) towards posters who are not taking on board her advice, are not taking responsibility or are not facing up to justified criticism"

Yeah well....you can't just turn on people who refuse to take your advice can you? DBF has no authority here, and her advice is not the law, despite what she clearly thinks. I don't have to bow down to her words of wisdom and neither does anyone else....it is sheer arrogance on her part to imagine she is entitled to become aggressive and insulting when her self perceived authority on dogs is not heeded. Posters like DBF are a menace. I agree with the ban.

LeBOF · 07/11/2011 21:47

I look like Demis Roussos in this kaftan. Can we just reinstate DBF so I can take it off please? I won't be naked, I promise.

chickchickchicken · 07/11/2011 21:47

chippin - i noticed it. i repeated it as justine seems to be on a personal crusade and is ignoring facts (well except the ones she likes repeating)

Ephiny · 07/11/2011 21:47

This is just ridiculous. Even if you think DBF has gone a bit OTT on other threads in the past, she did nothing at all to deserve a banning in this case. In fact she was surprisingly restrained given the context!

I for one said worse things than she did on 'that thread'. And I'll say worse. It's pretty clear to me now that a certain other person who we will not name is a lying, attention-seeking fantasist, who enjoys starring in her own personal drama of her life, with us as an attentive audience, and uses vulnerable animals as disposable props in that drama. Is that what Mumsnet is about?

I know who I would have banned, anyway.

thousandDenier · 07/11/2011 21:48
Catinthehat3 · 07/11/2011 21:48

I am also loving the personal attacks on DBF by Justine about bossiness and other things when DBF cannot answer back.

Classy

Really classy.

Brevity · 07/11/2011 21:49

picturelibrary I read your link and agree with DBF.

TeWihara · 07/11/2011 21:49

My interpretation of what HQ is saying is that they'll let DBF back if she promises to tone it down (which I too agree she already had a bit, but a bit of extra effort and promising to be good can't hurt).

And if a few doghouse reg's volunteer to pull people up on anything that's too agressive far/likely to scare people off.

They're asking for a change of attitude from everyone. Be sympathetic and factual first, not aggressive and dogmatic first.

That sounds okay to me? But it's not my area of MN...

GypsyMoth · 07/11/2011 21:49

She can't be banned! Me and DBF are just about the only Chelsea supporters here! I can't do it by myself!

Can someone tell me what's happened now?? Have missed it ALL. Pm please??

chickchickchicken · 07/11/2011 21:49

can anyone recommend another forum that is clear, consistent and fair? but not netmums

GlitterySkulls · 07/11/2011 21:50

I didn't see the thread in question, but i have to chip in to support DBF.

I always find her lovely & pleasant, & say what you like about her, she is passionate about dogs & really knows her stuff when it comes to them.

If it hadn't been for her with all her support & advice, & putting me in touch with a forum run by people with epileptic dog knowledge, I would have lost my dear, much loved boy a good few months before I did. In short, I find her a lovely, SUPPORTIVE person, which is exactly the sort of poster mumsnet needs, IMO.

Please retract her ban, MNHQ :(

LoveInAColdClimate · 07/11/2011 21:50

Wow, that whelping thread is actually really horrible. But I have also seen DBF do so many good things...

chickchickchicken · 07/11/2011 21:51

catinthehat - i noticed that too. leaves a bad taste in the mouth

BelleEnd · 07/11/2011 21:51

"She is only aggressive (for want of a better word, as I don't really feel that she is - I get the distinct feeling she's actually tempering herself much of the time and would like to let rip with much worse) towards posters who are not taking on board her advice, are not taking responsibility or are not facing up to justified criticism"

I don't kow if that's correct. Someone linked to a thread a few pages back where she was aggresive towards someone who wasn't aware, hadn't been told, they were doing anything wrong.

misdee · 07/11/2011 21:51

when i rehomed my dear tom, dbf was one of many who helped me. she wasnt judgmental.
